When Israel was created out of land that had no clear claim, the former arab inhabitants of the land became the Palastinians, the people without a country. This, at least, is the story I believe, and I'm not even sure it's true. If the Palastinians were displaced from Israel, why didn't they simply emigrate into other arab countries? Considering the size of Israel, it would seem trivial for Jordan, Saudi Arabia or any number of arab countries to take them in. Why would this not happen? It seems to me arab nations have been rather two-faced, supposedly supporting the Palastinians...
