U.S. attack helicopters killed four suspects and wounded three in operations south of Baghdad, the military said Sunday.The aircraft were operating in support of Iraqi army soldiers on the ground, who were engaged by insurgents, the U.S. military said in a statement. Police said they arrested a South Charleston man for driving under the influence after he flipped his middle finger at Kanawha County Sheriff Mike Rutherford and then crashed his car. Glenn Harold Vickers, 53, was arrested Thursday night near the Microtel Inn off the Montrose Drive exit in South Charleston. Rutherford said Vickers took the exit and as he did, he extended his middle finger toward the sheriff. Vickers then crashed the right side of his station wagon along the exit's guardrail, Rutherford said.

BAGHDAD – Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldiers responded to an explosion northwest of the Iraqi capital Jan. 19, finding a mosque leveled. Elements of 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division responded to the location of the Al-Haja Mosque in the Saba al-Bor region after hearing an explosion and receiving a phoned-in tip from a resident stating the mosque was destroyed. Upon arrival, the unit searched the remains and area surrounding the mosque, reporting no casualties. No Iraqi security forces were on site for the initial search. FALLUJAH, Iraq -- An estimated four insurgents were killed by aviation fire after precision munitions were employed to destroy a bongo truck used to transport improvised explosive devices Friday south of Fallujah. Marines assigned to Regimental Combat Team 5 observed insurgents excavating IED-making material from the side of a road and loading it into a bongo truck.
