While in Minnesota to attend the Republican National Convention, Ailes told The Washington Post he, Murdoch and Obama, a U.S. senator from Illinois, had a productive discussion three months ago in New York. He said Obama had expressed concerns about Fox News Channel's portrayal of him and his wife Michelle. The newspaper said Ailes told Obama that while his network wouldn't be "in the tank" for him, he assured the nominee he would be treated fairly. In return, Obama has agreed to appear on "The O'Reilly Factor" Thursday, hosted by conservative commentator Bill O'Reilly

OReilly just announced on air that he had the entire John Edwards story last fall and chose not to air it. First it was Mr.Jesse Jackson's statements regarding the denutting of Obama, leaving off only the pertinent part of the story of Jackson regarding Jacksons racist remarks. In O’Reilly’s Culture Warrior he notes that he must leave all judgment about sin to the deity. (pg. 179) No problem with that but then he indicates that he sees no problem with gay couples raising children. As with all others he offers a chance for the Catholic Church to explain their reasons for the negative positions they hold about children in such unions. It still might be easier to get the Pope to come on the “Factor” than Barack Obama but I doubt he is going to accept the offer if one is made.
