FOX News Channel dom inated the cable news ratings in 2004. Of the most-watched cable news shows of the year, CNN's only entry to crack the top 10 was "Larry King Live" — once the most popular cable news show on TV. It ranked sixth, surrounded by a sea of FNC shows, according to ratings released yesterday by Nielsen Media Research. Without NBC's Olympic coverage, spread across several of the broadcast network's cable channels, MSNBC and CNBC may not have even made it into the top 20. [snip] The top-rated cable news show of the year was "The O'Reilly...

Bill O'Reilly Exposes Coulter's Nonsense For those of you who think I have nothing good to say about Bill O'Reilly, listen up. I was ready to applaud him last night during a rerun of a segment, previously unseen by me, with him and Ann Coulter about demonizing political opponents. Of course, the only demonizing under discussion was done by the left against the right. O'Reilly started out the interview with a good question for Coulter. "Is there a difference between what you do and the attacks on Clarence Thomas and Condoleezza Rice?" Not surprisingly, Coulter thought there was, and she...

Sergeant Courageous By: Bill O'Reilly for BillOReilly.com Thursday, Dec 23, 2004 The first thing you notice about Army Sgt. Manuel Mendoza is his charismatic smile--Tom Cruise would be envious. The second thing you notice as he lies in his hospital bed is that half his body is missing, blown away by a roadside bomb that destroyed the Armored Personnel Carrier he was commanding in Sadr City, Iraq. Mendoza's life was altered forever last October 3rd. Within a week of his injury, he was under treatment at the Walter Reed military hospital in Washington, DC. Now he spends his days coming...

(CNSNews.com) - And the winner (or loser, depending on one's viewpoint) is Bill O'Reilly, says a liberal group that monitors "conservative misinformation" in the media. Media Matters for America announced that it has awarded its first annual "Misinformer of the Year" title to Fox News Channel's O'Reilly -- who beat out Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Britt Hume and Bob Novak for "top honors." "Our staff analyzed more than 1,000 instances of conservative misinformation captured on our website and tallied the number of times members of the media espoused lies, distortions, or mischaracterizations of fact in order to further the...

Bill O'Reilly, one of the most ardent defenders of Christmas interviewed Peter Boyles of KHOW 630am radio about the talk radio and grass roots movement that put Christmas back into the annual Parade of Lights celebration here in Denver, Colorado. The local talk show hosts here in Denver who led the charge were Gunny Bob Newman, Mike Rosen, Donna Star all on KOA 850am and Dan Caplis on KHOW 630am. Add to that the coverage on FoxNews, Michelle Malkin's Lump of Coal campaign idea and the grass roots effort from the great Americans in our state and electronic activism from...

Somewhere Jesus Is Weeping... Tuesday, December 21, 2004 By Bill O'Reilly •Somewhere Jesus Is Weeping... Revenge of the secularists. That is the subject of this evening's "Talking Points Memo." Well, the giant has awakened. Millions of Americans are now aware that the traditions of Christmas are under fire by committed secularists, people who do not want any public demonstration of spirituality. The situation is, of course, absurd. Department stores refusing to post Merry Christmas banners, Denver having a holiday parade that bans a float honoring Jesus, a school in Maplewood, New Jersey (search), forbidding any song that mentions Christianity, even...

Phil Donahue--what a typical eye-blinking, head rolling KNOW-it-ALL. President Bush should apologize to the world for invading Iraq, is what he believes. Donahue--another media person who sees no problems with fascists and dictators. Donahue is a man who stands ABOVE all problems. What a fool.

Just in time for the holidays, the Washington State Supreme Court has ruled children have an expectation of privacy at home and parents cannot eavesdrop on phone conversations. The case involved a 17-year-old boy who told his 14-year-old girlfriend that he mugged an old lady, knocking her to the ground and stealing her purse. The mother of the girl, Carmen Dixon, was listening on another line and called police. Oliver Christensen was subsequently convicted of a felony and served nine months in prison before the judges overturned the conviction, saying, ``The right to individual privacy holds fast even when the...

ARI's Dr. Yaron Brock was on the O'Reilly Factor arguing that we are far too soft in Iraq and that we should "turn fallujah into dust". O'Reilly was login the argument and it was great. You've gotta love Libertarian superhawks from the Ayn Rand Institute!

National Lampoon presents the pirated script notes of the forthcoming documentary, "O'Reilly Size Me," which will be appearing in a theater near you...or at least within a few miles. As part of a media-culture thesis at the University of Levittown, Prof. Steve Young, wanted to determine how much, if any, heavy doses of particular broadcasts affects the mental, emotional and physical health of the viewer or, in some cases, viewee. Young would watch and listen to Bill O’Reilly everyday for a month. Two hours of radio in the morning and one hour every evening on Fox TV. This type of...

Bill O'Reilly The O'Reilly Factor FOX News Channel 1211 Avenue of the Americas New York, NY 10036 Dear Mr. O'Reilly: In May of this year, I asked that you allow me to come on The O'Reilly Factor to discuss your attacks on philanthropist George Soros. Your producer denied my request, saying you were no longer discussing the topic. Yet in subsequent weeks, you continued to discuss Mr. Soros on your radio and television programs. Despite my offer to discuss Soros, you still did not invite me on -- even complaining during your June 1 Radio Factor, "I mean, we really...

"Christmas with the Kranks" is not only the name of a holiday movie this year, it is also a national trend. Once again, Christmas is under siege by the growing forces of secularism. Put these facts in your stocking: Federated Department Stores, which includes Macy's, has suggested that managers avoid displaying "Merry Christmas" banners and have ordered employees not to talk about it. In Denver, a church was banned from the Festival of Lights parade because it wanted a religious theme to its float. The Maplewood, N.J., school board has banned religious music from "holiday" concerts. Mayor Bloomberg insists that...

The briefing Suck it up or leave the country!: Fox News personality Bill O'Reilly is in the crosshairs of the Anti-Defamation League for suggesting to a Jewish caller on his syndicated radio show that if he's offended by Christian attempts to convert him, "You gotta go to Israel then." In a letter released to the media yesterday, ADL honcho Abe Foxman scolded O'Reilly that his Dec. 3 remark "plays into one of the oldest anti-Semitic canards about Jews, that they are not full citizens of a country and are not entitled to all of the rights afforded to the majority...

...Plus, we'll look at how some editorial cartoonists are taking shots at minority members of the Bush cabinet. Are they crossing a line? We'll ask Ann Coulter author of the new book, "How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must)".

Christmas Under Siege: The Big Picture Tuesday, December 07, 2004 By Bill O'Reilly Christmas under siege — the big picture. That is the subject of this evening's "Talking Points Memo." All over the country, Christmas is taking flak. In Denver this past weekend, no religious floats were permitted in the holiday parade there. In New York City, Mayor Bloomberg unveiled the holiday tree and no Christian Christmas symbols are allowed in the public schools. Federated Department Stores, [that's] Macy's, have done away with the Christmas greeting, "Merry Christmas." Now, all of this anti-Christian stuff is absurd, and may even...

I was just thinking about the Jeremy Glick episode. O'Reilly may be moderate politically, but that doesn't mean unbiased these days. His problem is that he isn't neutral when it comes to the United States. He is pro-American. To the left, that's biased.

I used to enjoy watching Bill O'Reilly on his primetime news/opinion program The O'Reilly Factor. In spite of his somewhat pompous demeanor (now that I think about it, I actually like that in a person) he seemed to be genuinely concerned with being fair to his guests and the subjects of his commentary. Sure, he's been known to cut off more than a few babbling nitwits who've refused to answer his questions directly, but for the most part, he's always tried to give everyone their say, and for that I've admired him... or at least I did before last summer....

The ordeal of Dan Rather goes far beyond the man himself. It speaks to the presumption of guilt that now rules the day in America. Because of a ruthless and callow media, no citizen, much less one who achieves fame, is given the benefit of the doubt when it comes to allegations or personal attacks. The smearing of America is in full bloom. Weeks before the election, Kitty Kelley put out a book defaming the entire Bush family. The allegations were primarily made by anonymous people, but that didn't stop the media from gleefully recounting all the sordid accusations. Some...
