Bill O'Reilly, cable news rating king, called for America to get rid of assault weapons. Applying a fair self-assessment, O'Reilly stated that he wasn't very knowledgeable about weapons, so he didn't want to get into distinctions. At one point he was hyperbolic, saying that Americans shouldn't have mortars and a few other battlefield weapons systems. Sadly, O'Reilly doesn't seem to realize that the Orlando shooter did not use an assault rifle, a weapon that is characterized for the most part by its having an automatic mode. Latest reports are saying the murderer in Orlando used a Sig Sauer, a weapon...

Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” during a segment with network contributor Karl Rove, host Bill O’Reilly discussed remarks made author Brad Thor on Glenn Beck’s radio program last week, which O’Reilly described as Thor talking about a “possible assassination” and Beck’s suspension from SiriusXM announced earlier today. Both O’Reilly and Rove criticized the remarks, with O’Reilly adding “you can’t do that” because it “incites violence.”

A good catch by Mediaite from Cruz’s interview this morning with Chris Stigall, and de facto confirmation of what I wrote earlier about the frustration he seems to be feeling with Hannity (and Fox News writ large). To be clear, it’s Stigall who brings up O’Reilly and Hannity. Cruz doesn’t name them as hosts who are “in the tank for Trump” but he’s complained before about O’Reilly’s habit of defending Trump and his spokesman’s complained about Hannity pushing Trump’s talking points. And Cruz’s silence in not challenging Stigall about O’Reilly and Hannity is deafening. He pointedly omits them from his...

On last Thursday's O'Reilly Factor, Ted Cruz and Bill O'Reilly both said that Donald Trump does not want to debate Ted Cruz on the Factor. O'Reilly is still trying to get the debate scheduled. Also, O'Reilly said that Donald was mad at O'Reilly. If Trump wants to be the best GOP nominee, shouldn't he go up against Cruz so as to sharpen his debating skills and knowledge for a future Hillary debate?

Dennis Miller: You know if Trump wanted to get everybody off his back tomorrow as far as being violent he ought to convert to Islam. Cause it appears to me nobody can say anything when it’s violent over on that end of it. But if Trump says something, he’s Hitler. The country has gone mad. And, when Paul Ryan announced today that he, in essence it appeared to me that he was jumping in the race. Can I tell you something, Paul. You seem like a nice enough kid, but you know why people are pissed off? The GOP is...

Fox host Bill O'Reilly loses custody of children amid abuse allegations Published time: 1 Mar, 2016 Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly lost custody of his teenage children over allegations of domestic abuse by his ex-wife. The New York Appellate Division unanimously ruled that O'Reilly's 13- and 17-year-old children should live full time with their mother, Maureen McPhilmy, who was married to the conservative commentator for 15 years. A 1,400 word opinion using anonymous names was issued by the court last week, but the media only figured out who it was this week. The ruling states it was the "clearly...

It was a long day for Donald Trump.** First Mitt Romney, Republican Establishment spokesperson, blasted him with an unbelievable press conference.** A massive rally in Portland, Maine with the usual fascist protesters.** Then a debate with FOX News – the most anti-Trump network on television today. After the debate Bill O’Reilly scooped Donald up for an onstage interview. Bill peppered him with a few questions and a few negative comments. After about five minutes Donald Trump let him have it. Donald Trump: If you look at what I’ve done I’ve built an unbelievable company. You know that. I know that....

ew York appeals court denied Fox News host Bill O’Reilly’s petition seeking custody of his two children, Gawker reported on Monday. The court’s Feb. 24 ruling upheld a Nassau County Supreme Court decision granting full custody of the 12-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl to Maureen McPhilmy, the Factor host’s ex-wife. “Viewing the totality of the circumstances, there is a sound and substantial basis for the Supreme Court’s determination that it is in the best interests of the children for the mother to be awarded primary residential custody,” the Appellate Division Second Judicial Department court stated. “Particularly relevant in this case...

After Ted Cruz came in third in New Hampshire, he got snarky about the glowing coverage Fox News gave Marco Rubio after he placed third in Iowa... O'Reilly mentioned that he has invited Cruz on multiple times and has never heard back. He said, "I don't really know what else to do. I'll even buy him dinner." Last month, O'Reilly revealed that Cruz has refused multiple interview requests.

For many months, Fox News and GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump have been at each other's throats. Trump has claimed that Fox News personality Megyn Kelly hasn't been fair to him, and Fox has said that Trump's accusations are baseless. New York Magazine reported that this little spat may be causing some further complications within the Fox News network. Reportedly Megyn Kelly and Bill O'Reilly are at each other's throats over Trump and Kelly's increasing popularity. Despite angering many people with her treatment of Trump, Kelly's popularity in Republican circles has actually grown, and she is now at the center...

"This dopey guy, Glenn Beck. He looks like hell. He's like a dope. And I watch him cry on television all the time. He's doing very badly. His thing is falling apart. His company is falling apart. I see him on television. I actually called Bill O'Reilly. I said, "Bill, why do you have a guy like that on television?" FOX fired him. Then he goes out and does this thing. He says he's doing well. He's not. And the thing that bothered me was, "Donald Trump voted for Barack Obama." Me. And here's the problem. The thing about having...

Fox News's O'Reilly Factor host Bill O'Reilly praised President Obama's executive actions to expand background checks. Earlier in the day, Obama announced executive orders to expand background checks to cover more private sellers and expanded background checks to family and corporate trusts. O'Reilly said, "The FBI should background check anyone buying a firearm in America. That just makes sense." According to RawStory, O'Reilly added, "If you are paranoid and believe the government is stockpiling information so they can come to your house and take your guns, that's your problem, your problem. But the government has an obligation to enhance public...

Bill O’Reilly is back to the same old rhetoric. O’Reilly’s recently gave his assessment of the Black Lives Matter movement during an episode of his Fox News show. The comments came as O’Reilly went on tangent about Donald Trump, and Kate’s Law, which was established after a 32-year-old woman was killed by an illegal immigrant earlier this year. Essentially, he concludes that American’s are fed up since Kathryn Steinle’s shooting, and Trump is their savior. “Trump knows that millions and millions have had it and that he’s going to mobilize all those people.†He compared the Trump supporters to Black...

A hundred years from now, when future historians are rooting around the monumental life and times of Ronald Reagan, they will begin with his two auto biographies, Where’s The Rest of Me? and An American Life. They will then move on to Lou Cannon’s five excellent books covering various aspects of Ronald Reagan’s life. Then, they will turn to the books edited by Marty and Annelise Anderson and Kiron Skinner, A Life In Letters and In His Own Hand, two wonderfully long books of chosen letters of the Gipper. They also wrote a book of Reagan’s radio broadcasts, also important....

Were the lungs the seat of wisdom, Fox News host Bill O'Reilly would be wise, but they are not and he is not. So it is not astonishing that he is doubling down on his wager that the truth cannot catch up with him. It has, however, already done so.
