Donald Trump is meeting with his harshest critics Monday and the people who arguably got him elected ... the media. Sources in Trump's camp tell us ... he's meeting with all the network heads Monday at 1 PM ET, and Trump will not hold back. We're told he wants to talk to them about how they got it so wrong during the campaign. TV execs will show up today, and Tuesday he'll do the same with the NY Times execs and others. Trump's end game for the meeting is unclear, but we're told crow will be served.

The so-called Internet of Things, its proponents argue, offers many benefits: energy efficiency, technology so convenient it can anticipate what you want, even reduced congestion on the roads. Now here’s the bad news: Putting a bunch of wirelessly connected devices in one area could prove irresistible to hackers. And it could allow them to spread malicious code through the air, like a flu virus on an airplane.

On the night of November 8th, when the voting tallies are coming in and the MSM realizes that a Trump landslide is in progress and there's no way they can deny it, how do you think they'll react? Will there be tears? Which network anchor will have the worst (or best) reaction? Which network will be most loathe to call the race for Trump?

The three networks on Thursday night immediately derided Donald Trump’s “dark speech” as one coming from a “vengeful” “demagogue.” On NBC, Tom Brokaw allowed that “some” will see Trump as on a “white horse who will lead them to some kind of sanctuary and then pull the drawbridge up.” But he sneered, “Others looking in are going to see someone they will only think as a demagogue of some kind.” Chuck Todd labeled, “I thought it was an extraordinarily dark speech.” Republican operative Nicolle Wallace lamented, “We are now represented as a party by a man who believes in protectionism,...

Internet-connected industrial devices could be accessible to anyone, with no password, thanks to a coding error by a gateway manufacturer. Taiwanese firm Advantech patched the firmware in some of its serial-to-IP gateway devices in October to remove a hard-coded SSH (Secure Shell) key that would have allowed unauthorized access by remote attackers. But it overlooked an even bigger problem: Any password will unlock the gateways, which are used to connect legacy serial devices to TCP/IP and cellular networks in industrial environments around the world. Researchers from security firm Rapid7 discovered the vulnerability in the revised firmware, version 1.98, released for...

Executives from ABC News, NBC News, CBS News, Fox News and CNN spoke on Monday to compile a list of demands they will make to Donald Trump's campaign in response to continued efforts to restrict the press. On a call, senior representatives of the five major news networks discussed recent restrictive actions taken by the GOP presidential candidate's campaign and how they should respond. It's not clear what demands were formed by the group of network honchos. Last week, campaign manager Corey Lewandowski threatened to blacklist CNN reporter Noah Gray for straying away from the designated "pen" for journalists. At...

For Stephen Colbert, the late-night honeymoon appears to be over. The dose of reality comes upon tracking the last three weeks available on the ratings front. But first, a quick review of where we were and how we got here on the late-night competition front: outside of Colbert's opening week, NBC's Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show have beaten his CBS competition every week with plenty of room to spare. No surprise there, as even CBS execs concede they had no illusions of beating Fallon as Colbert and The Late Show find their groove. But that's not to say Colbert...

Evening network news anchors went more than two months without mentioning the fact that Democratic presidential contender Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is a socialist.

The Democrat-Media Complex have just told us what they fear the most as an issue in the 2016 election: President Obama’s plan to “fundamentally transform” suburbia (as explained today by Jeannie DeAngelis). This is an issue that literally hits voters where they live, by using the denial of federal funding to override local control and force communities to provide low-income housing distributed to approved minority groups. Investor’s Business Daily reports that all three broadcast networks ignored the story that affects their viewers more directly than almost any other issue. The Big Three news networks all punted on covering one of...

The US Department of Homeland Security introduced a special plan - known as Standing Operating Procedure 303 - to block signals of cellular operators after cellular phones were used to detonate explosive devices during the bombings of the London subway system, Pravda.Ru reports. A federal appeals court wants to know why the government should be allowed to keep secret its plan to block cellular communication for the time of "critical emergencies." Standing Operating Procedure 303 is a powerful tool in the digital age ... The US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in February sided (PDF) with...

Millions of children and adults who received the latest video games were prevented from playing them on Chirstmas thanks to a DOS attack on Xbox and PlayStation networks. USA Today: Online game networks Xbox Live and PlayStation Network were knocked offline much of Christmas Day in an apparent DDos (distributed denial of service) attack. Taking credit for the takedown: a group called Lizard Squad, which previously claimed credit for August attacks on the PlayStation Network and online games World of Warcraft and League of Legends. Both networks were still having problems Friday morning. The network status Web page for...

As Guy Benson wrote, President Barack Obama will address the country on Thursday night to announce his sweeping, unprecedented decision to use executive authority to enact portions of an immigration reform bill that could not pass Congress. It will be, in fact, a move that Obama previously believed was beyond the realm of his authority to perform. There’s just one problem. If you’re hoping to see this critical, all-important address to the public on a proposal that Just. Can’t. Wait… you’re going to be disappointed. “President Barack Obama will announce his highly anticipated plan to deal with millions of...

After failing to mention the upcoming midterm election a single time since he took over the anchor desk of ABC's World News Tonight on September 1, on Monday, David Muir finally informed viewers that a political contest with "enormous" stakes was just days away: "The countdown is on, this evening, to the midterm elections tonight. Your voice, your vote. Just eight days to go before this election. The stakes? Enormous. President Obama, already battling with a Republican House, will he soon face a Republican Senate?" It had been 137 days since the ABC evening newscast had made any mention of...

President Obama has refused to commit American soldiers to the fight against the brutal Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS), saying “we don’t have a strategy” to defeat the terrorists. Network newscasts have praised the president’s statements against ISIL, labeling them “tough.” They also praised the expediency of his “fighting words.” Newsbusters reports: After President Obama admitted on Thursday that he had “no strategy” for dealing with the ISIS terrorist network, on Wednesday, the network morning shows rushed to portray the aimless commander-in-chief as a tough-talking leader ready to “destroy” the radical killers. At the top...

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) lowered the projected cost of ObamaCare's health insurance benefits Monday by $104 billion over 10 years. The law's insurance coverage provisions will now cost close to $1.4 trillion between 2015 and 2024, about $100 billion less than previously estimated, the CBO said. What is driving the lowered estimate? According to the report released by CBO, it has primarily to do with lower-than-expected premiums for exchange policies. So, good news for the Obama administration? Not so fast. Per CBO: A crucial factor in the current revision was an analysis of the characteristics of plans offered through...

Got an idea for a sitcom? NBC wants to hear from you. The broadcast network announced “an unprecedented effort to discover fresh comedic voices” on Tuesday by launching a national campaign offering aspiring comedy writers from around the country the chance to pitch their sitcom ideas. “We are taking a bold, alternative approach in what we hope will uncover original comedy minds who are looking for a way to get into the television business,” said NBC entertainment president Jennifer Salke. The initiative, dubbed “NBC Comedy Playground,” pledges to reach beyond the traditional talent labs of film schools and comedy...

London, 1772. I have been asked by my superiors to give a brief demonstration of the surprising effectiveness of even the simplest techniques of the new-fangled Social Networke Analysis in the pursuit of those who would seek to undermine the liberty enjoyed by His Majesty’s subjects. This is in connection with the discussion of the role of “metadata” in certain recent events and the assurances of various respectable parties that the government was merely “sifting through this so-called metadata” and that the “information acquired does not include the content of any communications”. I will show how we can use this...

Senate Democrats pledging to get more aggressive on climate change will soon pressure the major TV networks to give the topic far greater attention on the Sunday talking-head shows. Sens. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, are gathering colleagues' signatures on a letter to the networks asserting that they're ignoring global warming. "It is beyond my comprehension that you have ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox, that their Sunday shows have discussed climate change in 2012, collectively, for all of eight minutes," Sanders said, citing analysis by the liberal watchdog group Media Matters for America.

When it comes to breaking news on stories like Saturday's tragic Asiana jet crash at San Francisco airport, it's becoming increasingly clear that we've moved into a new era for journalism. A few years ago, the only real option for news viewers to try and keep on top of urgent stories was to go to one of the cable networks such as CNN, FOX News or MSNBC and watch stories unfold. Today, social media like Twitter, and Internet access to local news and scanner feeds, are getting the jump on the networks. Covering a breaking disaster story is simply...
