People with monkeypox can spread the virus up to four days before symptoms appear, with more than half of transmissions potentially taking place during this period, a UK study estimated on Tuesday. While the findings have yet to be confirmed, they suggest that many monkeypox infections cannot be prevented by asking patients to isolate once they realise they have the virus, the study said. Since May, when the virus suddenly started spreading beyond the West African countries where it has long been endemic, monkeypox has killed 36 people out of more than 77,000 cases, according to the World Health Organization.
  • US House members probe NIH over 'risky' virus research after Government scientists tried to create monkeypox strain that's '1,000 times more deadly'

House Republicans are probing monkeypox research being carried out by government scientists that involves making the virus 1,000 times more deadly. Policymakers are demanding the NIH (spell in full) hands over documents proving the experiment was subject to proper oversight. They also want the research agency to produce a risk-benefit analysis to justify taxpayer money being spent on research that poses 'potentially serious risks'. There is growing alarm that virus manipulation research continues to go on in the US despite concerns similar experiments may have led to the Covid pandemic. Last week it was revealed that a National Institutes of...

Monkeypox is causing devastating outcomes for people with severely weakened immune systems, even as new cases continue to decline in the United States, according to a federal report released Wednesday. At least 10 people hospitalized with monkeypox have died. More than 28,000 cases of monkeypox have been reported since the U.S. outbreak began in May. While the vast majority recover within weeks, some patients with untreated HIV experienced especially dire consequences, such as losing function of their brain or spinal cord, eyes and lungs despite being given antiviral medication.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, directed by Dr. Anthony Fauci, is conducting research involving the creation of a more severe strain of monkeypox in an effort to help develop better vaccines for humans, the organization said. The virus will be given to mice in order to track its progress, and help scientists understand what needs to be done to ensure humans are better protected depending on how certain genes act. Creating the new hybrid strain of monkeypox involves extracting genes from the clade 1 variant of the virus, which kills one in ten people it infects, and...

A healthy lifestyle reduces the risk of dementia in those with type 2 diabetes (T2D), according to a study. The study found that individuals with T2D and an unhealthy lifestyle were much more likely to develop dementia than people without T2D and a very healthy lifestyle. However, a healthy lifestyle almost halved the likelihood of people with T2D developing dementia. An unhealthy lifestyle and T2D are known to individually raise the risk of dementia. It hasn't, been clear, however, whether a healthy lifestyle can reduce the risk of dementia in those with T2D. The 445,364 participants (54.6% female) had an...

What are your chances of catching monkeypox? It's a question that many people are asking. A global outbreak of this infectious disease began in May of this year and has spread to 50 countries – along with some inflammatory headlines and misinformation. While previous cases of monkeypox were typically transmitted from animals (mainly rodents) to people, it is clear now that most cases are the result of human-to-human transmission. The concerns about catching monkeypox come at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic is still in force, with over 300,000 cases reported daily across the globe and over 10,000 deaths per...

What is already known about this topic? Although risk for monkeypox transmission to health care personnel (HCP) is thought to be low, CDC recommends that HCP wear personal protective equipment (PPE) consisting of gown, gloves, eye protection, and an N95 (or higher-level) respirator while caring for patients with suspected or confirmed monkeypox. What is added by this report? Among 313 Colorado HCP exposed to patients with monkeypox, recommended PPE use and receipt of postexposure prophylaxis vaccination was low. HCP were assessed for risk and actively monitored for 21 days when indicated; none acquired monkeypox. What are the implications for public...

  • Surgeons use an ELECTRIC GRINDER to remove metal ring from man's penis after it got stuck during 'experiment with friends'

The man told doctors who treated him that he could still urinate, but it had become uncomfortable to do so. Surgeons chose to remove the ring using an electric grinder, which are often relied on to cut through metal. Doctors able to pull the ring off after it was broken, releasing the man's member. Cutting metal creates heat, so the man’s penis had to be sprayed with 'continuous saline injection' to cool it down during the procedure. Medics also inserted a metal plate between the ring and penile skin to prevent burn or pressure injury. Writing in the journal, doctors...

What ever happened to the monkeypox pandemic? It was all over the news one day, then POOF!!! it was gone. Its kinda odd once the data showed that it was mostly amongst a certain lifestyle, men who have sex with men. The media quieted it down a little bit, afterall, it is midterms. ( However, I did notice that when news came out that a couple of toddlers developed it, with their father being infected as well and not the Mother, the media slammed the brakes and almost put it in their "vault of dont go there!" In this episode of Try to Control Your Shock and Amazement…Remember how the Democrat Party and left-wing media sock puppets did their damnedest to scare the bejesus out of us over COVID-19, including quadruple-vaxxed Joe Biden — who, along with “Dr.” Jill, has contracted COVID at least twice — hysterically warned the unvaxxed about their coming “winter of severe illness and death” that never came? And the draconian lockdowns? Me, too.Contrast all of the above with the relative lack of specific hysteria over the monkeypox virus. So, why the liberal media’s difference in reporting on monkeypox vs. COVID? We know...

The U.S. government just declared monkeypox a public health emergency, though 98% of the infections are in gays.

Promising to ramp up vaccination offerings at LGBTQ Pride festivals around the country in the coming weeks, Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, the deputy coordinator of the White House national monkeypox response, said more than 460,000 doses have been given.
