Tuscon sportscaster Paul Cicala deleted his Twitter account after receiving blowback on social media on Thursday night for his tweets suggesting that a supporter of Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump who was assaulted by protesters provoked the attack by pointing “to her Trump shirt.” Cicala’s tweets were in response to the images and video tweeted by NBC’s Jacob Rascon showing a Trump supporter being assault after Thursday’s rally in San Jose, California.

Several people were caught on camera punching Trump supporters. At least one attacker was arrested, according to CNN, although police did not release much information. “The San Jose Police Department made a few arrests tonight after the Donald Trump Rally,” police said in a statement. “As of this time, we do not have specific information on the arrests made. There has been no significant property damage reported. One officer was assaulted.”

ABC’s Good Morning America covered the violence that erupted outside of Donald Trump’s rally in San Jose, California Thursday as “pure attacks” where “even the elderly” walked into a dangerous environment.
