A second American reportedly killed fighting with the Islamic State group in Syria has been identified as Abdirahmaan Muhumed, of Minneapolis, two sources told Fox News late Wednesday. With no warning for residents, military helicopters flew low Monday evening over St. Paul and Minneapolis in a federal training exercise, about which officials released almost no information. MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Three people were hurt Saturday night after a triple shooting in north Minneapolis, according to police. Minneapolis Police were called at about 10 p.m. on a report of shots fired near the area of Newton and Hillside on the city’s north side. Target Corp. on Wednesday took a stand against customers who bring firearms into its stores. “This is a complicated issue, but it boils down to a simple belief: Bringing firearms to Target creates an environment that is at odds with the family-friendly shopping and work experience we strive to create,” John Mulligan, the company’s acting CEO, said in a statement. MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Brooklyn Park volleyball coach faces felony charges for allegedly having child porn on his computer and photoshopping images of a student he knew onto pornographic pictures. James Edward Ferdig, 41, is charged with two counts of possessing child porn, court documents filed earlier this month show. A criminal complaint states that officials began investigating Ferdig last year. In August, officers executed a search warrant and seized a computer and other items belonging to Ferdig.

After Minnesota became one of the first states in the Midwest to legalize same-sex marriage, it became a new travel ‘hot-spot.’ According to the New York Times, Minneapolis is now on the list of “up and coming LGBT” places to visit, especially with the Pride celebration coming up. MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two women were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after being stabbed during an attempted robbery in northeast Minneapolis early Monday morning, according to police. Authorities said the incident happened at about 12:20 a.m. near the intersection of University Avenue NE and Hennepin Avenue NE. Police said two women were walking home from a bar when they were approached by a black male wearing a mask. The suspect attempted to rob them, they complied by giving him $5 and then he stabbed them both with a knife.
