Mercedes-Benz owner Daimler's profits slumped by almost two-thirds in 2019 as the legal costs of the "dieselgate" scandal and heavy investments in electric technology took their toll. Mercedes-Benz announced plans today to invest an additional $1 billion in its Alabama operation, where it will set up electric vehicle production and build a battery plant. Mercedes-Benz has "reassigned" advertisements set to air during The O'Reilly Factor after reports that the show's host, Bill O'Reilly, was accused of sexual harassment.
