'Megyn Kelly Today' seemed to get a new host this week, as viewers were introduced to party rock Megyn. That Megyn talked about boozy lunches, broke out in dance when Pitbull started playing and even threw to commercial break while still busting a move. She also joked about being hungover after an outing with a co-worker, and to finish out the week downed a Jell-O shot on air. Or rather, tried to down a Jell-O shot.

Megyn Kelly‘s TV career continues to crash and burn. Along with her self-respect, apparently. Hoda Kotb, the popular host of “Today,” joined Kelly as a guest on her show. As their segment wrapped up, the ladies got up and danced among the live audience (video below). Awkward! The cringeworthy moment was almost universally panned on social media, with many calling it embarrassing, contrived and a cheap stunt for ratings. “Lots can happen in a year,” actor James Woods deadpanned on Twitter. Megyn Kelly’s slot of the “Today” show desperately needs a ratings boost after less than a month on the air. On Thursday, Hoda Kotb, the ever-upbeat popular “Today” host from another hour appeared as a guest. They chatted. They danced. They tried to get the audience on its feet dancing, too. Critics hated the moment. “I’ve never been so embarrassed,” tweeted BuzzFeed News’s Kate Aurthur. “I feel nothing but second-hand embarrassment for Megyn Kelly,” chimed in media critic Ian Miles Cheong. Vulture called the clip “22 nearly unbearable seconds.”

Megyn Kelly’s new NBC newsmagazine program premiered to modest ratings Sunday night, as it came in third place in total viewership in primetime behind Game 2 of the NBA Finals and a rerun of CBS’s 60 Minutes, though it did top the long-running CBS news show in the key demographic.
