As some of you may know, I work in D.C. and have the “privilege” of passing McPherson Square twice a day. For the past several months, I got to watch people who claim to be part of some movement on behalf of the 99% “protest” in McPherson Square saying they would make things better for all of us. Finally, McPherson Square has been liberated!! Occupy D.C. has left for good. We are free to walk through the park without fear of harassment, being attacked, raped, or robbed. Victory in this “battle” has come for the real 99% of Americans who...

With the partial eviction of Occupiers over the weekend, McPherson Square is no longer full to the point that the local community cannot enjoy it. Instead, it is a mud-bowl that no one can really enjoy. Occupiers managed to undo most of a $400,000 park renovation that was completed last year with stimulus funding... To give some context to Occupy, here's what McPherson looked like when the very first Occupiers arrived:

The director of the D.C. Department of Health said the only way to eradicate an infestation of rats at two Occupy protest camps in the District is to completely clear the parks of tents and structures until the rodents are dealt with. But there's no telling whether the National Park Service, which controls both the McPherson Square and Freedom Plaza campsites, would agree to such a drastic step even though tents would be removed only temporarily, District Health Director Mohammad Akhter told The Washington Examiner on Tuesday.
