This is a true story. The names have been changed because, well, a guy ended up getting charged with a felony, something he’s probably not thrilled about. Call me cautious. "Have you ever had something stolen? Your heart sinks, your mind races, and you become increasingly paranoid about the vulnerability of your personal property. I know because this is a picture of my coworker’s (let’s call him Steve) rental car, a Chevy Impala, after lunch at Slow’s Bar-B-Q in Detroit (amazing food, don’t park on a side street), the Monday after Maker Faire Detriot. There was nothing significant in the...

Sorry for such an elementary question. I couldn't find any software related to CD burning, but did see iDVD. All of its references are to DVDs. However, I'm thinking that it can burn CDs as well. Am I right? Thanks.

Why doesn't the Macbook pro have a right click button? I see one alternative is One Finger Snap www.oldjewelsoftware.com/products/onefingersnap/index.html. What is your opinion of it? What other alternatives do I have so that I get a right-click menu? Thanks.
  • Word for Mac: how to maximize the document across the screen

    08/31/2006 7:11:59 AM PDT · by rudy45 · 8 replies · 273+ views
My wife is using Word for Mac. She brings up a document. However, it's narrow (i.e. it doesn't fill the entire width of the screen. Therefore, the words are "small." If we try to zoom e.g. to 300%, the ends of the lines are cut off. In Windows XP, the document has the "maximize" icon at the top right of the document, and that icon lets me plaster the document across the entire screen. Does Word for Mac have similar function, and if so, how do I access it? Thanks.

APPLE LAPTOP HAS LOOKS AND BRAINS David Pogue 3/2/06 The MacBook Pro's camera and power help with iChat video meetings. REMEMBER the famous five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance? If you're a fan of the Macintosh computer, meet the five stages of switching to Apple's new laptop: lust, anticipation, delight, dismay and waiting. Ordinarily, it's not really news when a computer company introduces a new laptop model. You don't see newspaper headlines blaring, "Gateway's New P32-XC5 Adds Faster Processor, Third U.S.B. Port." But the new Apple MacBook Pro ($2,000 and up) is a different story. Although...

Apple Computer’s new MacBook Pro -- the renamed Intel-based successor to the PowerBook unveiled by Apple CEO Steve Jobs two weeks ago -- isn’t yet shipping (see "Update: Apple unveils Intel-based laptop, iMac"). But Apple officials are now showing off their newest 15-in. laptop, and I had a chance at a special Apple event last week to get a closer look at it. In fact, I had some real "pick it up and use it" hands-on time. The good news is that the MacBook Pro, which comes in two models and starts at $1,999, feels and looks just as solid...
