Note: Forgive this vanity, but this must be done. Kudos to the mod on duty for zapping the Tub-girl Troll early. I stayed put to see if he would post again. And true to form, he/she/it did at the same time as it normally does, which is between 0730-0800 hours CDT on weekdays. This probably means that it is posting them from the job, likely from the eastern time zone. Now, who was it? All information should be put out in the open post haste. cyborg, mhking, Darksheare, and I are tired of being the specific targets on this sub-human...

Study Suggests Perchlorate Made by Lightning! May Explain Why It's Found in Drinking Water Also Generated in Elevated Water Storage Tanks from Static Electricity "The lightning there is peculiar; it is so convincing, that when it strikes a thing it doesn't leave enough of that thing behind for you to tell whether--Well, you'd think it was something valuable, and a Congressman had been there. - "The Weather," Mark Twain's Speeches A new study by the same academic researcher who reported finding perchlorate in human milk now suggests that perchlorate may be created by lightning. you guys suck!! haha. just kidding. This is my first post on FR. (I am trying to figure out where to post) I am a member of DU though. Oh my God!! those people are crazy!! they defend Castro, are only nominally Democrats because they are anti-Bush and Republicans and have no where else to run. and our generally fanatical lunatics. worst of all, they admire Dennis Kucinich!!!!! hahaha. I was called out there for criticizing Kucinich. Since I am from Ohio, I recall Kucinich was a terrible mayor of Cleveland. but they don't care, since Kucinich is anti-Bush and...

A rock chip this isn't! How about a lightning bolt! It's what's left of a Salt Lake woman's windshield after lightning struck as she was driving down a highway. Lightning is the number one natural killer in Utah so she's lucky to be alive, and what a story she has. One minute she's driving down the highway, the next she's pulled over after lightning ripped through her car. If the chances of getting struck by lightning are slim, then getting hit two times should be near impossible. That means Aline Devaud of Millcreek shouldn't ever have to worry about it...

Are you a hater? Do you consider yourself to be superior based on your race, religion, sexual orientation? Are you a self-righteous blowhard? If you are reading this, then you most likely are one. What makes you so superior? Because of your religion? What about all the Islams who are acting just as self-righteous and oppressive and "RIGHT" as you?? Moslems and Homosexuals aren't the scourge of the world. Intolerance, judgmentalism, and vice-pointing (i.e. You're going to hell because you do this or that, or don't believe exactly what I believe). You've got it all wrong as far as I'm...

I think that it has been well established that "conservatives" or whatever it is they call themselves these days (e.g., storm troopers) in matters concerning politics value little more than the state's power in which they imagine themselves to participate and the supposed glory that war and domestic national securitism brings to them. Now strictly speaking this is a delusion, because their only access to power lies in the accidental agreement of their opinions with those of the managers of the state. This access will evaporate as soon as the state does something that displeases our conservatives. It is always...

A lightning strike at a farm in northern Israel killed 10,000 chickens, according to a report. The single bolt of lightning hit the farm during a heavy storm, struck the electricity supply which set fire to the coop and killed the chickens. All that remained were a couple of singed chickens huddling in a corner. "There was a bolt of lightning which hit the power supply and whole building went up. I've never seen anything like it in my life," a farm worker said.

Nevertheless, lightning bolts are common in clouds during rainstorms, and on average 6000 lightning bolts occur between clouds and the...

Mary Wiper, the leader of the Sierra Club in New Mexico, died Sunday after being struck by lightning while hiking with friends in Breckenridge, Colo. Wiper, 28, and two others were struck during a thunderstorm. The other two regained consciousness but were unable to revive Wiper. Wiper took over last May as Sierra Club's associate field representative for the Southwest. She oversaw projects in New Mexico, including the Sierra Club's participation in...

Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., said earlier this week the president must demonstrate he understands the "nature of the damage" caused by the abuses by "determining who is responsible, no matter how far up the chain of command...

MANATEE COUNTY -- Off in the distance, it looked just like the hundreds of other storms that blow across the state every summer. Moments later he heard a loud clap and was knocked from his feet. When he recovered, he found Sances unconscious, the victim of a lightning strike. Russo tried to revive him, as did paramedics who arrived minutes later. But Sances, 42, was pronounced dead at...
