For the second time President Obama has falsely claimed that General Motors repaid the bailout they received from the American taxpayers. The first time Obama lied to the American people about GM repaying its loan was in April 2010. This past Saturday the president was at it again telling a crowd in Ohio “Chrysler has repaid every dime and more of what it owes American taxpayers for their support during my presidency.” Glenn Kessler does an outstanding job ripping the president apart at his blog the Fact Checker but the key to Obama’s argument are the words “during my presidency.”...

“I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits, either now or in the future,” Barack Obama swore to us during the health care debate. Some 2.5 trillion dimes later, it’s clear the president had no idea what he was talking about. The latest numbers from the Congressional Budget Office project that Obamacare will drive up deficits by $250 billion in the first 10 years. Then again, the CBO also predicted that the original Medicare program would only cost $12 billion by 1990. Its actual price tag was $110 billion. Missed it by that much. Republican...

Part of President Obama's health care bill depends on the government telling doctors and hospitals what are purportedly the most efficient medical procedures they should use. Americans are supposed to trust Mr. Obama's bureaucrats over their own doctors. Meanwhile, a new report from the Government Accountability Office shows that the Obama administration has been an utter failure at identifying the efficiency of a wide range of products. As government encroaches on more aspects of American life, the federal bureaucracy is increasingly incompetent. The Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy are charged with identifying how energy-efficient different products are....
