A madman with a knife attacked people—seemingly at random—in a busy section of Paris Saturday before he was fatally gunned down by police, BFM TV reported. At least one person died and eight others were wounded in the attack, carried out near the Palais Garnier opera house, according to Le Parisien. A man was arrested in Dunfermline, Scotland, on Saturday for carrying a potato peeler in a public place “without reasonable excuse” and faces up to four years in prison. The police officer who jumped into action during a 2016 attack at Crossroads Center in St. Cloud was honored on Thursday. Avon police Officer Jason Falconer received a Congressional Badge of Bravery for his actions on that September 2016 day.
