    An ancient copper works in Jordan may have been the location of the fabled King Solomon’s mines, new archaeological investigations suggest. The dig at Khirbat al-Nahas, once a thriving copper production centre in the Faynan district, about 30 miles (50km) south of the Dead Sea, has found evidence that it dates back to the 10th century BC, making it at least two centuries older than was thought.
