The Sacramento-area woman convicted of killing her 2-month-old daughter in a microwave oven was sentenced Friday to 26 years to life. In November, a jury found Ka Yang, 34, guilty of first-degree murder and a second count of assault on a child causing great bodily injury leading to death. Yang placed Mirabelle Thao-Lo in the microwave at her family's Robla-area home on March 17, 2011. The baby suffered burns covering 60 percent of her body, including radiation burns that penetrated her internal organs.
