"Stupid is as stupid does" -- Forrest Gump Unless you regularly follow conservative media, you may not have heard what one of the architects of the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) thinks about you. Jonathan Gruber is a Massachusetts Institute of Technology health economist who helped craft Obamacare. In a rare moment of unvarnished candor, Gruber told an audience last year at the University of Pennsylvania the law passed because of the "stupidity of the American voter." In what can only be described as a smoking gun -- meaning there is no way to spin his remarks as "out of...

On Monday your humble correspondent speculated how the New Republic or Politico or other liberal sources would spin the Jonathan Gruber video scandal story in which he boasted about perpetrating Obamacare deception in order to get it passed. I offered bonus points to whichever liberal site could dream up the most creative spin control to explain away the viral video. Well, congratulations to Politico for the most entertaining spin. How did they do it? Besides being rather late to the story, they finally got around to it today, they were careful to bury it with no reference to any of...

MIT Professor and chief ObamaCare architect, Jonathan Gruber, has been captured on video tape, twice, bragging that he purposely deceived “stupid Americans”, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and all Democrats, in order to enact Barack Obama’s “legacy” healthcare legislation. Professor Gruber has also been captured on tape, explaining how states that decide NOT to establish state-run healthcare exchanges would suffer financial harm by not being eligible to receive federal healthcare subsidies. This “smoking gun”, 2012 Gruber videotape is damning evidence that exposes the current administration/media lie that only a “typo” in the current ObamaCare law is preventing the federal government...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Just a little more on the outrageous discovery that Jonathan Gruber, the architect of Obamacare, admitted Sunday (and still this hasn't shown up in the Drive-By Media) that they lied. They had to lie. They proudly lied, happily lied, laughingly lied, in order to get this monstrosity, this disaster passed and signed into law because the American people were too stupid to understand it. We've found another Gruber lie, by the way, and I've got a little bit here on Gruber and subsidies, which is the subject matter of the latest case the Supreme Court has agreed...

Call this Gruber 2: Stupid and Stupider. Jonathan Gruber attempted to escape scrutiny for his October 2013 declaration that Americans are “stupid” and that ObamaCare was designed to exploit that and hide its true nature by saying that he regretted his “off the cuff” comments. “I basically spoke inappropriately,” he told Ronan Farrow, “and I regret having made those comments.” Last night, though, a second video emerged from the same time period in which Gruber explained that the ACA passed “because the American people are too stupid” to understand the law. Megyn Kelly wondered last night how this squared with...

Kudos to Mika Brzezinski for admitting the truth: if Jonathan Gruber were a Republican, the MSM "would be exploding." Instead, noted Mika on today's Morning Joe, the MSM has been silent on the Gruber story, with only conservative sites [ed.: notably including Newsbusters] covering it. Mika contrasted the current quietness on the MSM-Gruber front with the media "firestorm" that erupted when David Stockman made his infamous statements about the Reagan admin's alleged lack of understanding of budget numbers. ... feast your eyes on all this about 'Who is Jonathan Gruber'!

Young Ronan Farrow of MSNBC who won a Cronkite Journalism Award three days after appearing on the air seems to have learned a grownup word that he loves to bandy about: "nuanced." It was that word that Farrow employed to excuse the infamous remarks by Gruber that it was important to deceive the public about Obamacare. Most of you have already seen the Gruber video since Newsbusters was the first major website to feature it but for those of you in the mainstream media who still pretend like Senator Angus King to know nothing about Jonathan Gruber, you can review...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: This is incredible. The liberals at the University of Pennsylvania tried to take down the video of Jonathan Gruber saying they had to dumb down the presentation of Obamacare because of the stupidity of the American voter. They thought they could take the video down and make the issue go away. You remember Jonathan Gruber. By the way, he's the architect of Obamacare, and I should say that he's one of the primary architects of Romneycare as well. It was in October of last year at the University of Pennsylvania's 24th Annual Health Economics Conference, and he...

Such an "independent," that Angus King. Nancy Pelosi couldn't have performed a more partisan hack job of defending Obamacare and attacking those who dare question it. Things got ugly on today's Fox & Friends. The show ran the clip [that NB's P.J. Gladnick uncovered and that few in the MSM have aired] of Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber admitting that the bill's drafters had deliberately deceived the CBO as to the costs of the program, and relied on the "stupidity" of voters to push it through. King claimed he had never heard of Gruber, jabbed his finger while instructing the Fox...

The University of Pennsylvania which had originally posted this has now pulled down the video from their site. But this is an attempt on the part of Jonathan Gruber and company to pull their pants up after they got caught. I think it's comical that these people still believe they can say whatever they want in public, but then flip out if anyone quotes them. It also appears that the Snopes.com mafia has been called in to cast doubt upon the incident as conservatives have reported it. They call this claim a Mixture of true and false. Here's their lame...

On Saturday, Newsbusters was the first major website to feature a video posted to YouTube by AmericanCommitment of Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber boasting in 2013 how he helped deceive the public via a lack of transparency about that bill. Some readers were anxious about that video being made better known to the public since at the time the article was published, there were only a couple of dozen views of the video on YouTube. Well they needn't have worried because since then the video has gone over the top viral to the extent that Rush Limbaugh led his show talking...

One of the architects of Obamacare said the law was written in a deliberately “tortured” way and relied on the “stupidity of the American voter” to ensure its passage. In a newly unearthed 2013 clip, Jonathan Gruber, the MIT health economist who helped craft parts of the Affordable Care Act, got fairly candid about the tactics used to get the Affordable Care Act passed during a panel at the Annual Health Economists’ Conference last year.

In a video that surfaced on Friday, economist and Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber said “lack of transparency” and “stupidity of the American voter” were “critical” to passing the president’s unpopular health care law. “Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage,” Gruber said. “Call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever. But basically, that was really, really critical to getting the thing to pass.” Gruber added that he wished “we could make it all transparent,” but said the bill would not have passed if not for the administration’s art of deception on key features of the law. “This...

Meet Jonathan Gruber, a professor at MIT and an architect of Obamacare. During panel event last year about how the legislation passed, turning over a sixth of the U.S. economy to the government, Gruber admitted that the Obama administration went through "tortuous" measures to keep the facts about the legislation from the American people, including covering up the redistribution of wealth from the healthy to the sick in the legislation that Obamacare is in fact a tax. The video of his comments just recently surfaced ahead of the second open enrollment period for Obamacare at Healthcare.gov. "You can't do it...

In a newly surfaced video, one of Obamacare’s architects admits a “lack of transparency” helped the Obama administration and congressional Democrats pass the Affordable Care Act. The conservative group American Commitment posted Jonathan Gruber’s remarks, reportedly from an Oct. 17, 2013, event, on YouTube. “Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage,” says the MIT economist who helped write Obamacare. “And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass.”

VIDEO Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber bragging about deceiving the American people, who he thinks are stupid.

Where in the world is Jonathan Gruber? Human events asked that question towards the end of October and now that the Supreme Court is taking up Obamacare again in the case of of King vs Burwell, Gruber's absence from the public eye has become even more noticeable. Gruber, one of the architects of Obamacare along with Ezekiel Emanuel, at first vociferously denied that the Obamacare law as written by Congress intended for the subsidies only go to states who set up their only health exchanges. However, his own words stating that was indeed the case came back to bite him...

Jonathan Gruber, one of the architects of Obamacare has filed an amicus brief on behalf of the government in two federal cases, swearing that the government always meant to have the federal government pay out subsidies. Four cases are contesting that issue and at least one is using Jonathan Gruber’s own words to rebut government expert Jonathan Gruber. It will eventually makes its way to the Supreme Court of the United States. It gets even worse than that, the partisan hack “helped” the supposedly nonpartisan CBO concoct their numbers which helped sell Obamacare to the public as cost effective. That discovery comes...
