The media has been trying its hardest to spin this Arizona immigration law to its agenda for all its worth. It's such a swarm of media agenda journalism that even liberal reporters that write about the travel industry are trying to demonize Arizona over it all. We can see this in the facile reporting by USA Today's travel reporter, Barbara De Lollis. Hers titled, "Arizona immigration law backlash? Traveler says state 'is off my travel list for sure,'" is a screamer for the wild assumptions and unproved and unprovable assertions made in order to further the Old Media agenda. De...

The Muslim principal who cried "bomb!" in a crowded school has left chaos and violence in the classrooms she created. And now, she's moved a step closer to returning. It is against this tumultuous backdrop that we learn Brooklyn's Khalil Gibran International Academy -- founded in 2007 by firebrand ex-Principal Debbie Almontaser as the city's first public Arabic-themed school -- this year has suspended more than one-third of its student body for infractions ranging from hitting to weapons. "Every day, they're fighting," said Voneeda Black, who nervously sends her 6-year-old to the elementary school with which Gibran shares a building....

Where Hamas and Fatah may each be accusing the other of being guilty of showing lack of unity in what is now being called the “Jerusalem Intifada”, they both fully support the violence called for against Israel and Jews in general. The difference in opinions is to how wide the violence should spread and who gets the credit. Hamas wants a general Intifada throughout the West Bank and against Israel from Gaza while Fatah, sometimes mistakenly referred to as the Palestinian Authority, wants the violence only in the Israeli controlled areas of the West Bank. The reasons given for the...

Shahada and Gendered Spaces Bethany Stotts, February 2, 2010 For the Palestinian people, martyring themselves in an attempt to attack their Israeli “occupiers” has become a sign of honor, not only for men but also women. At a recent convention one Professor of Language and Cultural Studies explored the “gendered space[s]” of Palestinian women’s resistance against Israel in the context of the First Intifada. The First Intifada, from December 1987 through September 2000, claimed the lives of 186 Israelis and 1,491 Palestinians within the “occupied territories,” according to the B’Tselem Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories....

A high birth rate among Muslim immigrants to Europe will make followers of the religion a majority of the population in many European Union countries in less than 40 years, according to demographers. Previous forecasts of population changes already have proven to be too low, and the baby boom already is changing the face of European society, where Muslims have made inroads to challenge the authority of secular law with Sharia regulations.

Hundreds of Israeli Druze rioted outside the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem on Sunday as the cabinet was meeting, demanding that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stop what they called the government's discrimination against them. The demands of the Druze were threefold: cancel all debts against the Druze community, reinstate broad local authority funds that the government previously determined were being misused, and create new income sources for their towns and villages. The demonstrators tried to disrupt the cabinet meeting by blowing air horns. When that was deemed ineffective, dozens of the Druze tried to rush the government building, and had...

Palestinian Authority officials in Ramallah on Sunday expressed outrage and shock over Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's call for the establishment of a demilitarized Palestinian state and his demand that the Palestinians recognize Israel as a Jewish state. The officials said that the speech which Netanyahu delivered at Bar Ilan University was much worse than they had expected. They also warned that Netanyahu's policies would trigger a new intifada. Some of Abbas's top advisors accused Netanyahu of "burying the peace process" and said the ball was now in the court of US President Barack Obama.

Israel's security forces have warned that Palestinians in the West Bank may be attempting to start a new intifada, after an upturn in the number of attacks on Israelis. The most concerning incident came last Thursday when an axe-wielding terrorist broke into the settlement of Bat Ayin in the Gush Etzion block, and killed a 13-year-old boy before injuring a seven-year-old and then managing to escape. Yesterday, police were still searching for the killer, who only gave up his murderous rampage after he fought with a Bat Ayin resident who managed to grab the axe, forcing him to flee the...

On January 10, the war between Israel and Hamas became a global conflict. No longer confined to the Gaza Strip, the fighting spread to cities around the world: what were billed as “anti-war” demonstrations from Los Angeles to Copenhagen and beyond were in fact overtly pro-Hamas demonstrations, and on Saturday, January 10 there was a unprecedented eruption of violence and extremism in dozens of European and American cities, surpassing anything seen at anti-war rallies in recent years: ¤ In London, protesters physically attacked police officers with unrestrained abandon and no fear of arrest; ¤ In Copenhagen, Hamas supporters screamed in...
