The Washington Secretary of State’s Office says state law doesn’t allow it to verify citizenship receiving a voter’s registration. During recent election cycles, the Washington Department of Licensing, or DOL, received numerous reports of foreign nationals being automatically registered to vote in the state, even in cases where they insisted to DOL they were not legally allowed to vote.
