The Biden administration's latest plan to "cancel" student loan debt extends to those struggling to repay loans due to financial "hardship." The proposal was devised under the Education Department’s existing rulemaking powers after the Supreme Court struck down Biden’s original student loan bailout plan. A number of factors are set forth in the new proposal to determine hardship, “such as a borrower’s total student loan balance and required payments relative to household income, and whether a borrower has high-cost burdens for essential expenses like healthcare or childcare,” the press release states. The current regulatory process builds on the Biden-Harris Administration’s efforts...

(Via MediaIte) […] Beck said that he had asked his audience to raise $10 million before Christmas to help take in Christian Syrian refugees. “Stop asking for permission!†he said. “Stop thinking we need permission… We will vet them ourselves. I have former CIA people that are going over and they’re vetting everybody right now. We can save more people by Christmas than Oscar Schindler saved, okay?†Beck said if the State Department refused them entry he’d find them a way in the country, even if he was thrown in jail. “I know some bridges over a river in Texas...

After marching for "comprehensive" immigration reform nearly four years ago, the thousands of Utahns who flooded State Street in Salt Lake City on Sunday want this to be the last time they rally for change. "This time it will happen," said activist Tony Yapias, who helped lead the 2006 march. Sunday's downtown crowd marched from City Hall to the Capitol and back.

I am addressing everyone today to introduce myself. I am Lev Davidson, and I would like to invite you to join me in finding a way to stop illegal immigration. How many people out there even know about the overwhelming number of Somalians living in this country? If it wasn't slapping you in the face you would probably not even notice. I have had the misfortune,of moving to a city with the second largest population of Somalians in the U.S.. It is disturbing to say the least and I can only see it getting worse. Something must be done and...

Don't expect police officers in Utah's 10 largest cities or anywhere in the Salt Lake Valley to be asking about your citizenship status anytime soon. Virtually across the board, police agencies are joining Salt Lake City and lining up against cross-deputizing their officers -- the only optional provision in the state's comprehensive immigration law that takes effect July 1 -- citing budget constraints and fears that enforcing federal immigration laws would inhibit their ability to protect residents.

Michael Tenenbaum says most people he meets while campaigning in local communities don't know who their congressman is. "It's not your fault you don't know," Tenenbaum tells them. "If he'd done something you'd know him." Tenenbaum, 37, is speaking of his June 6 primary election opponent, Elton Gallegly of Simi Valley, the 20-year congressman for the 24th District, which covers parts of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, including Thousand Oaks. Voters will choose one of the two Republicans for the November election ballot. What many people do know about Gallegly, 62, adds Tenenbaum, is that Gallegly unexpectedly announced his retirement...

WE MUST CONSIDER THIS POSSIBILITY strong message: We are not going to take any affirmative action to insure that the Mexican invasion across our southern border is brought to a halt. We must consider the possibility that these politicians want this invasion to continue because it serves their political needs. For the Democrats, this one is easy. Enabling the invasion is step one. Amnesty for those who have crossed our borders is step two. Step three will be figuring out a way to get those who were once illegal aliens, but by virtue of the amnesty program are illegal no...

I am the first one to criticize Chicano/Latino politicos when they don't defend the interests of the community. However, during the present crisis, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and most Latino elected officials in Los Angeles have acted in a principled manner, forcefully speaking out against the racist nativism that is gripping the country. The same can be said of the Catholic Church and its refusal to go along with the hysteria. If the actions of right-wing radio hosts, virulent anti-immigrant groups, and opportunistic politicos were an aberration, there would be hope that people would come to their senses. However, this form...

WASHINGTON -- Immigrant supporters claimed their first major victory since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks after a bipartisan group of senators approved legislation that would give millions of illegal immigrants a chance at citizenship. "It's a big day for us. We may not have a lot of big days, but this is a big day," Frank Sharry, executive director of the National Immigration Forum, a pro-immigrant group, said after the Senate Judiciary Committee approved a package of immigration and border security measures Monday. Restaurant owners, agricultural groups, Democrats and others who had been pushing for a way for immigrants to...

Bush Caves - Calls Nat'l Guard to Border. Calls Minuteman "Heroes" In a stunning reversal of policy, President George W. Illegal immigration is the No. 1 threat to our national security, allowing attacks from foreign sources and eroding the underpinnings of American society. It is a crime of gradual, exponential damage. Each illegal that steps over our border is just one more straw on the proverbial camel's back. Slowly, the influx of illegals has grown to unmanageable levels, depleting our economic resources, destroying institutions and straining our society to the point of breaking. Yet Congress has failed to act to secure our borders, enforce our laws and protect our sovereignty. Story Continues Below Fed up with inaction, a grass-roots citizens'...

An illegal immigrant imprisoned 22 years for her role in the table-leg beating of a man who bought her as a sex slave wants a visa to stay in the United States. Maria Suarez, paroled in December by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and turned over to immigration authorities, would be in danger if she is deported to Mexico, her attorney said Wednesday during a hearing at the San Pedro Service Processing Center. Attorney Jessica Dominguez said Suarez, 43, was a victim of child and sex trafficking when she was sold for $200 to Anselmo Covarrubias when she was 16. Suarez was...
