Comey FBI apologist, Fusion GPS co-conspirator and Lawfare Alliance media narrative engineer, Natasha Bertrand, has an outline published today on the background interview of dossier author Christopher Steele. From within the article, beyond the sympathetic propaganda, some overarching details are interesting: ♦(1) As expected Mr. Steele would only talk to OIG investigators from Horowitz’s office; Steele would not speak to speak to U.S. Attorney John Durham. ♦(2) The interview took place at the same time President Trump traveled to the U.K (June 3rd-5th) for a state visit. Likely coordinated so FBI officials could travel innocuously without media scrutiny (lots of...

In an appearance on Fox News Monday evening, Rep. John Ratcliffe said he met last week with Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz who said his office’s probe into alleged abuses of the FISA court by the Obama-era DoJ and FBI is complete. In addition, Ratcliffe said, the IG’s office is currently drafting its report, though it’s not clear when it will actually be presented to Attorney General William Barr.

Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), in an interview on “Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo,” touched on a wide range of issues including the investigation by Justice Department (DOJ) Inspector General Michael Horowitz, the potential testimony before Congress of former special counsel Robert Mueller, the release of new documents this week, and whether people in the FBI and DOJ will be held accountable. About the investigation by Horowitz into alleged FISA abuse, Meadows said that he expects the report to be delayed. “Only Michael Horowitz knows the exact timeframe of when it’s coming out. Obviously, the attorney general had indicated that...

**SNIP** Rep. Mark Meadows told "Sunday Morning Futures" host Maria Bartiromo that he is "not as optimistic now" after Attorney General William Barr said he anticipated Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s investigation to be complete by early June. Horowitz and his team have been investigating alleged FISA abuse by the Justice Department and the FBI since March 2018. The inquiry includes a focus on the FBI’s handling of the unverified dossier compiled by British ex-spy Christopher Steele and its extensive use in the FBI's FISA applications and renewals to target former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. Barr said in April that...

Democrats and their complicit media wildly overpromised on how damaging the Mueller report would be to President Trump. They paid a huge price when Mueller did not deliver. Collusion diehards like Adam Schiff and Jerrold Nadler look delusional with their ongoing search for something that never existed. The Deep State coup attempt stands busted cold, its perpetrators caught red-handed in unbelievable and un-American actions aimed at covering up Hillary Clinton’s inarguable illegalities and overturning an election whose result they could not abide. For Trumpservatives the schadenfreude was sweet. But now, those vindicated supporters of the president must caution against being...

BREAKING: The Horowitz IG report is now in staff review and is being briefed to principals – @OANN May explain why Comey et al are now front and center setting their narratives — Jack Posobiec 🇺🇸 (@JackPosobiec) May 17, 2019 Hannity reported the same last night with Lindsey Graham Sean Hannity says he is hearing that the Justice Department inspector general’s investigation into alleged Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuse is “done and it’s devastating.” “I have sources telling me that Horowitz perhaps is even finished with his report and certainly the attorney general has been briefed on what is coming,”...

US Attorney John Huber in Utah is no longer involved on Russia issues. Huber had originally been tasked with looking at allegations of surveillance abuse by former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, but has been in a holding pattern as the inspector general completes his review of the surveillance warrant the FBI obtained on Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page

WASHINGTON — Former FBI director James Comey is vulnerable to a possible obstruction of justice charge for his conduct in the Hillary Clinton email investigation. Comey deleted Barack Obama’s name from the Bureau’s report to conceal Obama’s knowledge of the illegal server, and also deleted evidence that Clinton’s emails were hacked by foreign adversaries. Comey’s firing by President Donald Trump in 2017 is at the center of Comey’s friend Robert Mueller’s attempt to charge President Trump for obstruction of justice. Mueller previously announced that he would try to wrap up an obstruction case by September 11, having found no evidence...

Republicans have a plan to oust embattled Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein "on Friday" as part of a concerted effort to "undermine" the Russia probe, Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee claimed in a surprise outburst that brought a congressional hearing to a temporary halt on Tuesday. The House Judiciary and Oversight committees were questioning Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz over his bombshell report into FBI and DOJ misconduct during the Hillary Clinton email probe. As Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, questioned Horowitz, Jackson Lee of Texas repeatedly interrupted and asked permission from Oversight Committee Chair Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., for permission...

Lindsey Graham GRILLS Ig Horowitz & FBI Director Wray In Clinton Email Probe Hearing
-
Okay, so I'm watching the congressional hearings this morning. They are questioning IG Horowitz. At 12:35 PM EDT, maybe 2 hours in, Rep Jordan is questioning Horowitz. At that point Shirley Jackson Lee interrupts with "Parliamentary procedure" question. It's not of course...it's an attempt to make a political point. BUT she says, and I quote "and as well to fire Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein which they’re planning to do on Friday” They certainly seemed, in the investigation that makes the case that Rosenstein should be fired. Somebody else want to confirm?

The OIG is infected by a far more dangerous disease than political bias — fear. The Justice Department’s tepid OIG report, with its risible assertion that there was no political bias in the FBI’s Clinton email probe, suggests that it was written by people afraid to tell the unvarnished truth about the conduct of the federal government’s police apparatus, an agency that openly defies congressional oversight and has participated in a vendetta against a sitting president. The FBI’s leadership clearly hopes that the Democrats will win majorities in Congress and put a halt to the investigations into its multifarious abuses...

In a way, the inspector general's report on FBI behavior during the 2016 election sort of resembles the conclusions James Comey drew as he closed the email case on Hillary Clinton, filing no charges: baffling. How can a 500-page report that contains so much politically damaging material somehow lead its authors to conclude that there was "no political bias" in anything the FBI did in that time period? After the insane, power-mad posts FBI chief counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok made to his married girlfriend at the time, attorney Lisa Page? Or the boiling left-wingery of maybe five other FBI agents,...

A joint committee from House Ove rsight and House Judiciary are conducting a hearing today at 10:00am EDT with DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz. Unlike the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing yesterday the House team has representatives far more knowledgeable of the issues. Hopefully, expertise will deliver better questions. Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte has direct primary oversight authority over the DOJ. Chairman Trey Gowdy comes from the aggregate Oversight/Reform Committee. Far more House members have read the 568-page IG report. Due to a better informed group of members we are more optimistic for detailed, specific, confrontational and challenging questions to draw...

The Department of Justice's (DOJ) inspector general is investigating former FBI Director James Comey's handling of memos he wrote to memorialize his conversations with President Trump. DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz revealed the probe during testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday afternoon. He said Comey's memos are being investigated after the watchdog received a referral from the FBI and that the IG would release a report on its findings. “We received a referral on that from the FBI. We are handling that referral and we will issue a report when the matter is complete, consistent with the law...
