A former White House speechwriter, Mark Thiessen, has jumped to the defense of his former boss, writing for the Washington Post that George W. Bush “established a conservative record without parallel.” Even by the loose standards of Washington, that is a jaw-dropping assertion. I’ve been explaining for years that Bush was a big-government advocate, even writing a column back in 2007 for the Washington Examiner pointing out that Clinton had a much better economic record from a free-market perspective. I also groused to the Wall Street Journal the following year about Bush’s dismal performance. “Bush doesn’t have a conservative legacy”...

Why in the hell is Karl Rove on my TV? Why is Karl Rove on my radio? Why is Karl Rove on anywhere? Unless he’s on trial or being interrogated, I can’t imagine of what possible use this George W. Bush relic could be to conservatives and yet he’s everywhere, hocking his book “Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight,” a title as credibly right-wing as Stephen Colbert and as historically accurate as the movie “Titanic.” Craig Shirley and former Reagan official Donald Devine summed up Rove’s duplicity well in this week’s Washington Post: “From William...

Paul Streitz has decided to call Sarah Palin by her real name, because she endorsed John McCain (who is trying to win a fifth term as Senator) and said she will campaign for him. Fanatic Palinites, such as the editors of the misnamed „conservatives4palin.com” website (they should rename it „liberals4palin.com”), lambasted him and called him a “backstabber”. “If Paul Streitz’s support of Governor Palin is contingent upon his agreeing with every decision she makes or her selling out her deeply-held values, that’s unfortunate. While all support is appreciated, the governor has never been for sale. Ask the Alaska establishment, who...

If Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin were president of the United States, would Iran try to build a nuclear bomb? Would Pakistan provide covert aid to al-Qaeda? Would Hugo Chavez train terrorists in Venezuela? Would leftover nationalities with delusions of grandeur provoke the great powers? Just ask Georgia's President Mikheil Saakashvili, who now wishes he never tried to put his 4 million countrymen into strategic play

GEORGE BUSH MAY GO DOWN AS THE WORST PREZ IN HISTORY or WHY IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE A REPUBLICAN TODAY President George Bush has not distinguished himself by fighting for his judicial nominees. Indeed, the way he treated Miguel Estrada, he is arguably worse than the Democrats in the Senate. Now seven Senators have made a deal to run the Senate, and they claim that it would be best for the President to get in his Presidential Yugo and drive down to the Senate Building carrying his hat in his hand to get his judicial nominees pre-approved. If President...

Judge Greer has accomplished a coup: He commandeered local cops to repel a state agency (Family and Children Services) and Jeb's state police. And what happens to him for usurping extra-judicial authority? nothing. He's allowed to continue the killing process, with a bizarre zeal to see Terri Schiavo die. Michael will be rid of her, and recipient, likely of book and TV movie deals, from a Hollywood that is pushing assisted suicide as the cause du jour. Greer thumbs nose at Congress; what happens? Nothing. The man shows signs of lunacy - - - is he fiddling with metal balls,...

Last night while making dinner, my wife and I started cracking each other up with new Heinz Ketchup slogans. You know the cute ones like "Meatloaf Enhancer", or "Hides Grill Marks". Ours were more like - "Tastes Great on Waffles", "Better Dead than Red", "Greases the Wheels", "Served in Vietnam", "Not Affiliated with MoveOn.org" Plus they all fit on Avery labels, not that I would reccomend making a bunch of them and going to your local grocery......
