In this post and its links, you can see footage of a man being punched by a police officer on the steps of Victoria's State Parliament until the man subdued the police officer with a headlock. Then another police officer comes in and assaults angry protestors with pepper spray. I believe that the violence was initiated by police. I think the primary problem here is corrupt leadership in both government and the police force and inexperience and lack of emotional control at times by a few protestors and a few police.
