Status of Hydroxychloroquine at Pharmacies for Home use with doctor’s script About 3 weeks ago, Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin wrote the attached letter to President Trump. Sen. Johnson requested a Presidential Executive Order requiring pharmacies to fill a doctor’s prescription for hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) for home use. HCQ has been shown to lessen the severity and length of CoVid-19 symptoms. What happens now when someone like you and I or our family members tests positive for CoVid-19? They tell you to stay at home and often you get worse after 4 or 5 days. There is no “Standard of Care”....

There's been a lot to criticize when it comes to Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's coronavirus response. Her draconian and arbitrary stay-at-home restrictions, for one, have drawn ire from several lawmakers and law enforcement officials. She banned the purchase of gardening tools, for goodness' sake. But that's not all. Whitmer's unpopular nursing home policy that places COVID-positive seniors among healthy seniors, is just as curious. The COVID-positive individuals were brought to “regional hubs,” nursing homes where the state says there has to be separation of the COVID-19 positive and negative patients, after being discharged from the hospital. Democrat state representative Leslie...

Most new Covid-19 hospitalizations in New York state are from people who were staying home and not venturing much outside, a “shocking” finding, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday. The preliminary data was from 100 New York hospitals involving about 1,000 patients, Cuomo said at his daily briefing. It shows that 66% of new admissions were from people who had largely been sheltering at home. The next highest source of admissions was from nursing homes, 18%. “If you notice, 18% of the people came from nursing homes, less than 1% came from jail or prison, 2% came from the homeless population,...

As of today, nearly 55,000 Americans are reported to have died because of COVID-19. It is well known that the elderly and frail are more susceptible to the Wuhan Coronavirus. As a result, almost one of five COVID-19 deaths have occurred among those who live in nursing homes or other long-term care institutions. New York state is the epicenter of the American outbreak, accounting for 40% of the deaths. The grim statistic stems from the fact New York City has recorded over 155,000 cases (16% of the national total) and over 11,000 deaths (22% of American deaths). One factor for...

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Dozens of United States lawmakers are demanding more information on which long-term care facilities have confirmed COVID-19 cases, claiming health officials are “failing to collect and publicly report” that data. “Without understanding the scope and impact of the pandemic within long-term care facilities, the Administration and the Congress lack essential information to adequately respond and protect older Americans and individuals with disabilities who rely on these facilities to survive and are particularly at risk for COVID-19,” the letter reads. The letter calls on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,...

(CNN) They are best friends and coworkers who normally go to Coachella together every year. But in 2020, the coronavirus pandemic has made their regular sojourn to the desert for the April music festival impossible. So, Charles Lichaa and Lo Noulinthavong decided to throw their own "homecoachella." At Lichaa's West Hollywood, California, apartment last week, the two 30-year-olds sported colorful bandanas as masks, like they would in Coachella where the wind often blows dust around the festival grounds. Then they danced around, rewatching sets of their favorite artists, such as Rüfüs Du Sol and Blackpink. Two weeks ago, Lichaa and...

Just weeks ago, Joe Biden was riding high on stunning primary wins, starting to fill rallies with thousands, dominating headlines, and quickly coalescing the Democratic Party around his candidacy. Now he is hunkered down in his Wilmington basement, forced to communicate through live stream technology that he says took four days to install. In normal circumstances, Biden would be the figurehead of his party. But in the wake of the coronavirus, local leaders and governors like New York's Andrew Cuomo are on the front pages and at the frontlines of a global health and economic crisis. On the trail, the...

Nicole Anzia, professional organizer and founder of Neatnik, joined staff writer Jura Koncius for The Washington Post’s Home Front online chat. Here is an edited excerpt. Q: What are the main reasons that resolutions to get organized are derailed?A: Trying to do it all in January and then stopping. People work really hard at decluttering and purging at the beginning of the year and then think they’re done. But organizing isn’t really something you’re ever done with. As long as things are coming into and leaving your home, it’s a continual process. Do a little bit here and there, but...

The home was last listed for $2.65 million by The Agency, but it has been on and off the market since 2016. The Phoenix, Arizona, home will be auctioned off, regardless of price, by Heritage Auctions. Throughout all of human history, and all over the world (independent of culture), families fall into only two distinct categories. These categories are simple but fundamental. They describe how the families operate. Of course, there are other ways to break down the composition of families and their structure. These other ways are complex and serve no purpose other than to confuse. In these other arrangments, you have families classified by the number and types of children, and the marriage states of the primary caregivers, as well as the gender variations, present in the families. It is silly. Really. All are...
