AUSTIN (KXAN) — Dozens of United States lawmakers are demanding more information on which long-term care facilities have confirmed COVID-19 cases, claiming health officials are “failing to collect and publicly report” that data.
“Without understanding the scope and impact of the pandemic within long-term care facilities, the Administration and the Congress lack essential information to adequately respond and protect older Americans and individuals with disabilities who rely on these facilities to survive and are particularly at risk for COVID-19,” the letter reads.
The letter calls on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Food and Drug Administration to work together in collecting more data on the virus is affecting people in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Without more data, the lawmakers wrote, “We fear that the fatalities of congregate living facilities will linger in hindsight as a national and avoidable tragedy.” The lawmakers said more than 3,000 nursing home residents across the nation have died, citing media reports for their information. “The actual numbers are likely far more dire,” the letter reads. “We fear that there may be hundreds if not thousands more COVID-19 cases that have gone unreported.”
One of the lawmakers heading up this effort, (Democrat) Congressman Lloyd Doggett, said he’s been following along as KXAN Investigators independently confirms sites where people test positive for COVID-19, since the information isn’t available to the public. He said it’s one of the reasons he wanted to send the letter to health officials.

And Warren cannot tell a lie, even when she’s desperate for attention.

Aside: the words “lawmakers fear” are a fount of tyrannies ... screw what they fear. Screw their excuses to grab power.
People’s circumstances, no matter how dire, are not amendments delegating power to the federal.
From radio host, Steve Gruber, in Michigan: he says Whitmer is holding back numbers of prison and nursing home cases to pop out and use as an excuse to not open up Michigan.
That’s a real problem right there. Virginia has been publishing much of its data. Assisted living facilities are sites of most of the outbreaks, and that should surprise no one. 92 of 168 outbreaks identified as long-term care facilities.
So, if they actually died of CV related illness, does that make them less dead? Or is their fear that they can’t maintain the fear in the sheeple without padding the numbers?
Her last tweet before announcing her brothers death was to encourage investigation into Trumps handling of the virus. Of course.

The fact is nursing homes report all cases of COVID-19 and every other sickness. How do I know? The wife runs dozens of facilities.
These polidiots are just trying to scare everyone.
That’s a shame. The “officials” are so desperate to get the numbers inflated, so as to strengthen their grip around our necks. At least that seems to be the case here in PA.

The Oregonian tried to get C19 nursing home numbers from the governor. No luck. Then, the Oregonian ran an article about the huge political donations from nursing home corporations to the governor. A couple days later, the governor began releasing nursing home C19 numbers.
Democrats pretend to care for the poor and elderly. Their response to C19 is proof they don’t.
So the Dems want more dead people?

We need a weighted average to measure how much life was cut short due to death by corona. Did the person die days, months, or years early? In socialized medicine you cannot afford to spend all your money on the lat year of life so its not surprising that the gov doesn’t want an accounting of nursing home deaths.
But then again with vote by mail the Dems may spend fortunes for nursing home care every four years.
A nursing home near me had 11 patients die of the flu a few years back. Not a peep from any news media. I wouldn’t be widely known today except someone wanted to explain how Corona was killing nursing home residents in our area.
Turns out the flu or pneumonia is the way most of them die.
