Today I was in Costco. As I entered the papergoods area a demonstration woman approached me about a sale on Northern triple ply quilted bathroom tissue. It's my brand and I strongly support a soft 3 ply, but that's not my point. The demonstration woman went on to show me on the packaging that Georgia Pacific donates money to the Susan G Komen foundation. I stopped in my tracks and said " I wish you hadn't told me that. The Susan G Komen Foundation funds Planned Parenthood and Planned Parenthood ( or Planned Barrenhood) is the largest provider of abortions...

For some time now, the left has been whipping up a boycott campaign against its favorite bogeymen, David and Charles Koch, billionaire owners of Georgia Pacific. As the lefties see it, the Koch brothers fund conservative organizations and politicians, like the Tea Party — which means, according to Common Cause, that they are “moving democracy into the control of more wealthy corporate hands.” (Common Cause, it should be noted, is itself heavily funded by corporate types, including the Kochs’ left-wing counterpart, George Soros.) PORT HUDSON, La. - A literacy test used to screen Georgia-Pacific Corp. applicants discriminated against blacks because blacks were far more likely than whites to fail the test, the federal Labor Department said. Utility workers at a paper mill don't need to read well, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Georgia Pacific disagrees, but has stopped using the nationally standardized Test of Adult Basic Education's literacy exam and will pay $749,076 in back pay and interest to 399 black people who applied over the past two years, spokeswoman Patty Prats-Swanson said Wednesday. "We may not agree but we have...

Just as men respond to babes in beer ads, Georgia-Pacific says women go for a Brawny man to sell them paper towels — just not an out-of-date one who now looks more like Burt Reynolds in Boogie Nights.

Brawny, the No. 2 brand behind Procter & Gamble's Bounty, will unveil on Thursday a lumberjack who'll replace on packaging their nearly 30-year-old guy with the 1970s hair and mustache.
