Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, announced Monday that he will run for Texas Attorney General against Republican incumbent Ken Paxton. "We have got to control our borders. There's more that needs to be done. There's more that the attorney general's office could do. And so, that's one of the issues that has concerned me greatly, including election integrity. Texas Attorney General candidate George P. Bush (R) warned on Sunday that a Democrat would be elected to the role if incumbent Ken Paxton (R) won the Republican nomination again. “This time around he will not win, because he’s facing corruption and bribery charges. Imagine having a Democrat AG with a Democrat president and what that means for Texas politics,” Bush, the son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), said during “Lone Star Politics,” a Sunday political show, according to The Dallas Morning News. Paxton is mired in several cases, including one that spans back to 2015 when a...

Matthew Dowd, the former chief strategist of President George W. Bush’s 2004 reelection bid, is running as a Democrat for Texas lieutenant governor, kicking off a difficult fight to oust incumbent Dan Patrick. In a video announcing his campaign, Dowd railed against Patrick as a representative of only a small minority of Texans. He blamed Patrick for hampering local governments’ ability to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and failing to take charge after the state’s electric grid crashed earlier this year. “The GOP politicians have failed us, especially the cruel and craven lieutenant governor,” Dowd said.

*** Attorney General Ken Paxton just got another Republican primary challenger, but this time it is someone who has been close to him for years: state Rep. Matt Krause. The Fort Worth lawmaker and founding member of the House Freedom Caucus says he is running as the “faithful conservative fighter,” hoping to bring a similar conservative ideology to the position that Paxton is known for — but without the legal troubles that have dogged him for most of his time in office. Krause is the third serious primary opponent to announce against Paxton. The field already includes Land Commissioner George...

Jeb Bush RetweetedI'm proud to receive @BPUnion's endorsement. Our borders pose the most critical homeland homeland security threat our state faces due to illegal drug smuggling and human trafficking. As Texas Attorney General, I will fight to secure and protect our border. pic.twitter.com/LViJn3RxNz— George P. Bush (@georgepbush) September 4, 2021

Because there's no anti-Republican insult too vulgar for the likes of John Berman and CNN, New Day devoted a segment this morning to mocking George P. Bush's unsuccessful effort to get Donald Trump's endorsement in the Republican primary for attorney general in Texas. Trump overnight endorsed George P.'s primary opponent, incumbent AG Ken Paxton. At one point, Berman said that Bush spent weeks "desperately, adamantly, passionately prostrating himself before the former president. Kissing the ring—or the Latin equivalent." The Latin equivalent of ring to which Berman was presumably alluding would be "anulus." Get the rest of the story and view...

Trump blasted out a statement calling Paxton a "true Texan who will keep Texas safe" and praised the attorney general for his stances on crime, guns, border security, and "election integrity." "Attorney General Ken Paxton has been bravely on the front line in the fight for Texas, and America, against the vicious and very dangerous Radical Left Democrats, and the foolish and unsuspecting RINOs that are destroying our Country," Trump said. "It is going to take...

I don't think I've ever posted a thread asking to support a candidate. Not even for Rand Paul! However, this is important. Ken Paxton is facing a primary in Texas for Attorney General against George P. Bush who is seeking to climb the greasy pole and will be well funded and endorsed by lots of well known people. I would argue this is a flagship race that should be on the radar of Freepers and conservatives NATIONALLY. We cannot allow another Bush to infiltrate the system pretending to be a conservative especially after the damage done by the last one....

Texas won’t turn blue anytime soon with next-gen conservatives like @HoustonYR leading the charge. Enjoyed discussing my conservative vision for the TX AG’s Office with this incredible group tonight. We must secure our border, back the blue, & push back against federal overreach. pic.twitter.com/tO2H8z4hXl— George P. Bush (@georgepbush) June 15, 2021

Imagine if the U.S. were to open interior Alaska for colonization and, for whatever reason, thousands of Canadian settlers poured in, establishing their own towns, hockey rinks and Tim Hortons stores. When the U.S. insists they follow American laws and pay American taxes, they refuse. When the government tries to collect taxes, they shoot and kill American soldiers. When law enforcement goes after the killers, the colonists, backed by Canadian financing and mercenaries, take up arms in open revolt.

The Texas bar association is investigating whether state Attorney General Ken Paxton's failed efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election based on bogus claims of fraud amounted to professional misconduct. The State Bar of Texas initially declined to take up a Democratic Party activist's complaint that Paxton's petitioning of the U.S. Supreme Court to block Joe Biden’s victory was frivolous and unethical. But a tribunal that oversees grievances against lawyers overturned that decision late last month and ordered the bar to look into the accusations against the Republican official. It makes Paxton one of the highest profile lawyers to face...

No Republican political family has been as tormented by Donald Trump as the Bush dynasty. Now Trump has one more opportunity to twist the knife, as George P. Bush — the last remaining Bush in public office — prepares to launch a primary challenge Wednesday against Texas GOP Attorney General Ken Paxton. In what’s expected to be a brutal contest pitting the Bush family scion against a scandal-plagued incumbent, Trump’s endorsement will go a long way toward determining the winner. The former president remains popular with the Texas Republican base — so popular that Bush, Jeb Bush’s son and currently...
