Gohmert is running in a primary against several other Republicans, including George P. Bush
-------------
Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, announced Monday that he will run for Texas Attorney General against Republican incumbent Ken Paxton.
"We have got to control our borders. There's more that needs to be done. There's more that the attorney general's office could do. And so, that's one of the issues that has concerned me greatly, including election integrity. I feel like our attorney general could — should have done more," Gohmert said during an appearance on Newsmax Monday.

Paxton, of course, is doing fine. Gomert is good as a backup, in case Paxton can’t run. Otherwise we get stuck with (yet another) Bush.
Good Lord. Is anyone NOT running for AG? Hell, someone even asked me to run a few months ago.
I would think Eva Guzman has a better chance than Bush.
Not my State, but I’ve always liked and greatly respected Louie.
If this is what he wants to do, he should go for it.
Love Louie...that mind and backbone...
Can we make 4 more just like him..
I love Louie, but I’d love him to stay in Congress! His seat is a safe R seat, but I don’t see Gohmert beating Paxton. Certainly Bush light is no real challenge, and I’m not real sure why he is going for this Attorney General Seat. Has he ever really practiced law of any meaningful nature? I think it would take a political event unforeseen for Louie to win, but then he’s counting on diluting the vote to keep Ken Paxton from getting getting 50% plus 1 in the primary throwing this to a run off of Gohmert vs Paxton.
Louie, you are doing outstanding in the house and in the next Congress should expect to chair a key committee. Paxton is just fine. Why split the vote and elect a Bush?
I’ll vote for Judge Gohmert- whatever he wants to be.
Former judge and attorney.
Has Paxton waffled on vote integrity? There could not be a more important area to sharpen, even in TX. We’ve probably suffered under years of fraudulent rule across the board, MSM be damned.
Maybe it’s good. he will actually have to do something as opposed just talking about it.
A pre-retirement move, getting closer to home.
I know Louie is qualified, my question was about Bush not having any real legal experience that would warrant election to Attorney General
Exactly. Why is he running? Because Ken is doing a mediocre job. Doing just fine doesn’t cut it. If he doesn’t win maybe this will spur Ken to take more action on the border.
Maybe he just wants to do more good at the end of his life than he thinks he can do where he currently is.
