Free Republic

Supporting Free Republic Is Better Than Arguing Over Posts On Free Republic The Depth Of The Left Should Not Be Underestimated I have come to believe in the depth of the Left and its ability to exploit any situation like 9/11 for example to take away freedom using government agencies to spy on Americans. Donald J. Trump supports that stuff and Thomas Massie doesn't by the way. In 2016 the FBI informants more than 15 of them were at the Oregon Standoff protest to stir things up try to turn Ammon Bundy's peaceful protest into 'domestic terrorism'. Thank God an...

Randi Weingarten has taken to wearing a paper clip on her lapel as a bizarre symbol of her crusade against “fascism,” aka Donald Trump. The president of the American Federation of Teachers is on tour to peddle her new book, “Why Fascists Fear Teachers” — yet another example of prioritizing poisonous politics over education from this Marxist fossil. Not to mention fattening her own wallet. The paper clip, she likes to explain to anyone who will listen — mostly on MSNBC — symbolizes a Norwegian protest against Adolf Hitler in World War II. “Teachers in Norway when there was Nazi...

On Tuesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Lead,” Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) stated that she would handle the coronavirus pandemic differently if she knew then what she knows now, but “We did not know it was respiratory in nature. We didn’t know that it would be people on the other end of the age spectrum who would be most vulnerable. And so, I think that the education stuff, we would’ve been able to do a lot more to help our kids.” But overall, “I’m proud of what we did, and I can tell you, the people of Michigan, I think,...

Biden recently visited the Holocaust Museum and delivered a speech in which he pledged an “ironclad” commitment to the “security of Israel”.On Wednesday, Biden sat down with CNN and announced an arms embargo on Israel. This is bad news for the Jewish State, but it’s also bad news for every nation to whom Biden had offered his “ironclad” commitments in the past. And that turns out to be much of the world. In March, Biden had greeted Polish President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the White House and vowed that, “America’s commitment to Poland is ironclad.”In April, ahead of...

[Catholic Caucus] Francis is Letting His Gaslight Shine on Doctrinal ChangeFrancis’s attacks on Traditional Catholics have become so commonplace that they scarcely seem newsworthy, but on his September 4, 2023 return flight from Mongolia, Francis combined his attack on Catholics with a disturbingly bizarre suggestion that the only Catholic doctrines that we can defend are those truths contained in the Catholic creeds:“They defend a doctrine in quotation marks, which is a doctrine like distilled water, tastes like nothing and is not the true Catholic doctrine that is in the Creed. And that so many times scandalizes; how it scandalizes the...

Beck argues that the DNC isn’t a government institution – it’s a private one, and there should be a certain expectation of privacy in turn. “Nobody has a right — that’s like breaking into IBM and Apple and just releasing all their documents. You don’t have a right to do that.”

Barack Obama said Thursday that he has “not contributed to” dividing the country. Blame for that, he said, lies at the feet of Republicans and Obama-critical media outlets. During a White House press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Thursday, Obama said, “I’ve said at the State of the Union that one of my regrets is the degree to which polarization and the nasty tone of our politics has accelerated rather than waned over the course of the last 7 1/2 years.”

(CNSNews.com) - At news conference in Paris on Tuesday, President Obama said "the most elegant way" to reduce carbon emissions is "to put a price on it." He was responding to a reporter who asked Obama, "I wonder if you see any political path back home toward putting a price on carbon?" "I have long believed that the most elegant way to drive innovation and to reduce carbon emissions is to put a price on it. This is a classic market failure," Obama replied. "If you open up an Econ 101 textbook, it will say the market's very good about...

Obama suggested other world leaders think climate change is "a really big problem," even if Republicans don't. "So whoever is the next president of the United States, if they come in and they suggest somehow that that global consensus — not just 99.5% of scientists and experts, but 99% of world leaders — think this is really important, I think the president of the United States going to need to think this is really important," he continued. He further said the broader American public was with him on the issue. "It's important for us to not project what's being said...
