PHILADELPHIA - BetOnSports PLC, the embattled London-based Internet gambling company that has been charged with fraud and racketeering by U.S. prosecutors, announced Friday that it has shut down its services for gamblers in the United States. On Thursday, the company told its employees that it was shutting down its Costa Rican and Antiguan offices, where it accepted wagers from tens of thousands of customers in the United States, its primary market.
