TROUTDALE -- A flash mob targeted a Troutdale store last weekend and investigators are trying to identify the suspects. Investigators said as many as 40 kids entered the Albertsons store at 25691 SE Stark Street at the same time late Saturday night and started stealing things. Flash mobs are known across the United Stats as a group of people, dancing, having fun and enjoying themselves while entertaining others. However, the Wal-Mart off Lem Turner Road in Jacksonville fell victim to a flash robbery when more than 300 people entered the store and destroyed the security system as well as some merchandise. According to the police report, the group destroyed an electronic anti-shop lifting security scanner that costs about $1,500. A third flash mob theft in a one-month span in Portland left a mess behind at a convenience store Friday. Surveillance video showed unwelcome visitors enter the Max Mart and Deli in the 12000 block of East Burnside in Portland late Friday night. Silver Spring officers responded to the 7-Eleven store located at 12257 Tech Road for the report of a mass theft. Preliminary investigation revealed that approximately 50 teens and young adults simultaneously entered the 7-Eleven and stole items, to include snacks and drinks. Officers were able to stop a group of six individuals, ranging in age from 16 to 18. Each of the suspects had items from the 7-Eleven and none could provide a receipt for the items.
