In a trial heat for the 1984 presidential election, former Vice President Walter Mondale is now leading President Ronald Reagan by a 53-44 percent margin. This is the first time in modern political history that an incumbent president has run behind his potential opponent so early in his term.

Anti-fascist leftist movement, Antifa, has dominated US politics during the weekslong protests over the death of unarmed black man, George Floyd, in police custody. US President Trump is holding the group accountable for the ongoing violence. It’s fair to say that the protest often becomes violent because Antifa members are out there to destroy and the police brutality protests are not their main goal. As protesters clash in occasionally violent street confrontations that spread via online video, provoking emotional conversations that could touch almost anyone on Facebook or Twitter, millions of Americans feel pressure to pick a side, to support...

I cringed after Donald Trump started trashing James Mattis following his resignation as Secretary of Defense. Mattis’s departure was reportedly connected to Trump’s announced withdrawal from Syria, which Mattis opposed. In response to Mattis’s departure, rather than praise him for his service and acknowledge the tremendous progress they’d made together cleaning up the mess left by Obama, Trump trashed Mattis as “the world’s most overrated general.” Mattis wasn’t the only person Trump kicked out the door with a litany of attacks. He lambasted former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson as “dumb as a rock,” and described his former chief of...

Despite some unfavorable polling, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi still thinks the Occupy movement has been politically helpful to Democrats. In an interview with TPM on Friday, she said there’s no recent precedent for the sort of election House Democrats are going into. In 1994 and 2010, Congressional Republicans ran against Washington controlled by Democrats. In 2006, Congressional Democrats ran against Republican corruption and President George W. Bush. This time around, President Obama will carry the national message for the party while individual candidates use it as they see fit to win in their districts. That national message, Pelosi said,...

In dramatic testimony Monday, Obama holdover Attorney General Sally Yates testified that she warned the incoming White House its newly installed national security adviser, Michael Flynn, was “compromised” by a lie and therefore a potential “blackmail target” of the Russians. President Trump can be forgiven for ignoring her warning. It was Yates who was blackmailing him. It’s clear from recent revelations that President Obama and his holdovers had a morbid fear of Lt. Gen. Flynn, an anti-Islamic terror hawk, and were gunning for him early in the transition, long before rumors he was involved in any alleged Russian conspiracy. Just...

Today the republican majority is not judging the President Clinton with fairness, but impeaching him with the vengeance. In the investigation of the President, fundamental principles which Americans hold dear, privacy, fairness, checks and balances have been seriously violated. And why? As we are here today, because the republicans in the House [of Representatives] are paralyzed with hatred of President Clinton. And until the republicans free themselves of this hatred our country will suffer. I rise to oppose these unfair motions, which call for removal of the President of the United States from office, and in doing so wish to...

A 2018 video of former FBI Director James Comey is circulating again after the Department of Justice released bombshell documents that appear to show the FBI was planning a perjury trap for President Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn. In the clip, MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace asks Comey who went around protocol to send FBI agents directly into the White House to interview the retired general in January 2017.“I sent them," Comey reveals.“[S]omething I probably wouldn't have done and maybe gotten away with in a more organized investigation,†he added. Devastating flashback clip of Comey just aired on @marthamaccallum show....

A new 162,000-square-foot meat processing plant opened Oct. 21 in Camp Hill, Pa. The factory, off Lisburn Road, is owned by Ahold USA, which operates grocery store chains Giant, Martin’s and Stop & Shop, and is managed by Vantage Foods. The plant will cut and package beef and pork products for distribution to Giant’s stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland and surrounding states, said Tracey Pawelski, Ahold’s vice president of external communications. No animals will be slaughtered at the factory. The carcasses will be brought in from the company’s current suppliers, including Pennsylvania-based brands such as Hatfield and Berks as well as...

For most players and teams, the baseball season ends basically at the end of September. Play 162 games and go home. The Yankees' season, however, is like a run-on sentence; it just keeps going. The Yankees, of course, like it that way. George Steinbrenner pays them well enough to cover the overtime, and if they win 11 games in October (and, for this year only, maybe November), they are champions. They reached the requisite number each of the past three years and four years in the past five. It was that odd year when they fell short of 11 victories...

NEW YORK, Oct. 27—The New York Yankees finished another season in the only place they feel comfortable. They finished on top of the baseball world, celebrating a 25th championship in a heap of bodies on the pitcher's mound of the game's most hallowed patch of earth. In a season when they faced relentless pressure, were forced to deal with unexpected slumps and personal tragedy, these Yankees, like the Yankees of Ruth and Mantle before them, answered every challenge. They did so again tonight by completing a methodical four-game sweep of the Atlanta Braves with a 4-1 victory in Game 4...

Ending years of futility and self-doubt, the Yankees defeated the Atlanta Braves 3-2 in a taut thriller last night to win their first World Series title in 18 years. Crowning a magical season of many small miracles, the Yankees dropped the first two games at home and then stormed back to snatch four straight from the defending champions and claim a destiny that once seemed their very birthright. The spellbinding six-game triumph over the Braves bestowed on the Yankees their 23d world championship, by far the most of any team, and perhaps their sweetest. Never since the Yankees began winning...

WASHINGTON (SBG) - As the coronavirus spread to all fifty states over the last two months, the Trump administration faced mounting criticism for the lack of reliable, widely accessible test kits. Now, a former senior federal health official nominated to his post by President Trump, alleges that the delays in testing occurred because leaders at the Centers for Disease Control “lied” to the president, and to Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, about the center’s ability to produce the kits. In making the allegation, Chris Meekins, a former assistant secretary of Health and Human Services for preparedness and response,...

The Obama White House Office of the Press Secretary For Immediate Release December 16, 2016 (The Russians "hacked" the election) This was not some elaborate, complicated espionage scheme. They hacked into some Democratic Party emails that contained pretty routine stuff, some of it embarrassing or uncomfortable, because I suspect that if any of us got our emails hacked into, there might be some things that we wouldn’t want suddenly appearing on the front page of a newspaper or a telecast, even if there wasn’t anything particularly illegal or controversial about it. And then it just took off. And that concerns...

Barack Obama's chief campaign strategist David Axelrod, once worked for a man who was an identified member of the Communist Party USA, a registered agent of the Soviet Union and a paid disseminator of Soviet black propaganda. This man went on to become a key Chicago political fixer who helped elect communist linked politicians including the late Chicago mayor Harold Washington and former US Senator Carol Moseley Braun. This man knew Barack Obama and was a key member of an organisation which endorsed Barack Obama in his 2004 US Senate race. Barack and Michelle Obama were active members of this...

Hillary Clinton will use a customized lectern at Monday’s debate to mitigate the glaring height difference with Donald Trump. New photos from inside the Hofstra University debate hall show two lecterns — a short one and tall one raised internally with plywood. One of the lecterns to be used at Monday’s presidential debate has plywood in the middle to raise it. “Clinton is 5’4” and Trump 6’2” and her team wanted the podium modified or a box added for her to stand on so she won’t look short next to Donald Trump,” WABC radio host Rita Cosby emailed with snaps...

From a Wikipedia article regarding Victoria Nuland: "She was the lead U.S. point person for the Ukrainian crisis. Nuland was a key figure in establishing loan guarantees to Ukraine, including a $1 billion loan guarantee in 2014, and the provisions of non-lethal assistance to the Ukrainian military and border guard.[9][10] Along with Secretary of State John Kerry and Secretary of Defense Ash Carter, she is seen as a leading supporter of defensive weapons delivery to Ukraine. In 2016, Nuland urged Ukraine to start prosecuting corrupt officials: "It's time to start locking up people who have ripped off the Ukrainian population...

For one thing, while Burisma is clearly trying to portray itself (perhaps genuinely) as an open, Western company, its ownership is more than a little murky. A 2012 investigation from Forbes Ukraine noted that registration documents from Ukraine and Cyprus indicated that Nikolay Zlochevsky, a former government minister and representative of Yanukovych's Party of Regions, was in control of the company. There was speculation from Ukrainian energy analysts that Biden's appointment may have been an attempt to avoid sanctions by other, bigger Yanukovych allies. It's also unclear why, exactly, Biden was hired: At Yahoo News, Olivier Knox and Meredith Shiner...
