In this episode of You Can't Make It Up... According to a whistleblower report sent to Congress on Friday, the chief medical officer for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) pressured his staff to order fentanyl lollipops for him to take to the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York in September. When the top doc was caught, his excuse was even more idiotic than his desperate effort to get his hands on the deadly drug — disguised as lollipops, no less. Dr. Alexander Eastman’s staff raised questions about why he would need to fentanyl lollipops to take to the...
  • More People Die After Smoking Drugs Than Injecting Them, US Study Finds

Smoking has surpassed injecting as the most common way of taking drugs in U.S. overdose deaths, a new government study suggests. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention called its study published Thursday the largest to look at how Americans took the drugs that killed them. CDC officials decided to study the topic after seeing reports from California suggesting that smoking fentanyl was becoming more common than injecting it. Potent, illicit versions of the painkiller are involved in more U.S. overdose deaths than any other drug.

Luke D’Wit, 34, befriended and worked for millionaires Stephen and Carol Baxter, who he claimed treated him like an “adopted son”, jurors were told. The couple were found unresponsive and slumped in chairs in the conservatory of their home in West Mersea, Essex, on Easter Sunday by their daughter.

  • So much for an emergency! Portland piously sounded alarm on fentanyl crisis promising a crackdown - but the reality is junkies on every corner and paramedics taking over 20 minutes to respond to ODs

Within an hour of arriving in downtown Portland to investigate the city's newly-declared 'state of emergency' over its fentanyl crisis, I am on the phone calling 911. One of dozens of homeless drug addicts lining the sidewalks has just taken a hit from a piece of aluminum foil in open view and collapsed in a lifeless heap. In a county where overdoses caused more than 200 deaths in 2022 alone, I fear another might be about to happen right in front of me.

A new type of illicit synthetic street drug known as “Pink Cocaine” and “Pink Panther” was found in a San Jose business where investigators suspect it was being manufactured. Luis Carrillo-Moyeda, 32, of San Jose, was arrested last month on drug charges after San Jose Police Department officers served search warrants at his home and business on Blossom Hill Road. SJPD wrote, “The illegal narcotics being manufactured and sold by suspect Carrillo-Moyeda, commonly known as ‘Tusi,’ ‘Pink Cocaine,’ ‘Pantera Rosa,’ or ‘Pink Panther,’ is a new synthetic drug made from a mixture of ketamine, MDMA, methamphetamine, cocaine, and opioids.” Detectives...

San Francisco's Democrat Mayor is pushing for single adults to be screened for drug addiction before receiving welfare benefits amid the city's spiraling fentanyl crisis. Mayor London Breed is backing a pair of 'aggressive' public safety proposals that would require roughly 9,000 single adults on welfare to be screened and treated for illegal drug addiction or else lose their cash assistance. She is also pushing to give police more crime-fighting powers, such as the use of drones and surveillance cameras.

Three Texas residents allegedly blew fentanyl smoke into the face of a 19-day-old baby to “pacify her cries,” police said. Police in Abilene stopped Robert Lee Mason Jr., Jennifer Trevino, Aracely Daniella Rocha and the newborn in a vehicle Jan. 25 in front of Frontier Inn & Suites, where they were staying, KVII reported. Deputies with the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office discovered fentanyl in the vehicle, including in the baby’s diaper bag, according to the outlet. When they searched the suspects’ hotel room, they were overcome by a cloud of smoke and had to don breathing masks to enter.

Mexico’s president suggested Thursday that talks with the U.S. government on migration and drug trafficking could suffer after media reports of a U.S. investigation into alleged drug money donations for his 2006 campaign. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador suggested U.S. officials should apologize for what he called baseless allegations, and said it would be hard to sit down and talk about some of the most pressing issues in bilateral relations until that happens. “I don't accept this, what I want is for the U.S. government to take a stand,” López Obrador said at his daily morning press briefing. “If they...

Among the substances were cocaine and fentanyl, according to TMZ and NewsNation.
  • Oregon’s Drug Decriminalization Experiment Takes a Dark Turn: Fentanyl Crisis Sparks State of Emergency

Oregon, the pioneering state in drug decriminalization, faces a fentanyl crisis prompting a state of emergency in Portland. Despite hopes that a more compassionate approach would address addiction, the reality has been starkly different. Measure 110, passed in 2020, shifted focus to addiction and recovery, with police issuing citations for public drug use. However, the law’s effectiveness is under scrutiny, with overdose deaths rising since its implementation. Governor Tina Kotek has declared a 90-day emergency order for fentanyl use, establishing a command center for better coordination between emergency management and health services. The move comes after nearly a thousand accidental...

Leon Trotsky, founder of the Red Army and Stalin’s archrival said words to the effect, “You may not be interested in war. But war is interested in you.” In 1940, Trotsky found war personally when he was assassinated in his well-guarded compound in Mexico City by one of Stalin’s people. Mexico for years was a playground for KGB and now FSB personnel, with the American Government essentially ceding Mexico to the foreign adventurism of Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela, North Korea; a veritable Mos Eisley of international rogues. There is a running debate, do we secure the American border, counter Chinese worldwide influence operations, or do we deter China from launching the more overt, kinetic phase of World War III in the Western Pacific? The answer is clear and intuitive – yes. All must be done simultaneously. Borders matter, countering influence operations are important, and visible, demonstrative deterrence actions (which sometimes include dramatic teaching points through direct action) around the world are also the priority. When defending our incredible Constitutional Republic, we must walk and chew gum at the same time. I give my best national security advice...

Hundreds of thousands of lives have been saved over the years when naloxone — commonly known as Narcan — is administered to someone overdosing on opioids. Drugs Illegal drugs such as cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl can be mixed with xylazine, either to enhance drug effects or increase street value by increasing their weight. sedative/tranquilizer called xylazine to heroin, fentanyl and other opioids.
