The USSR got its first McDonald's in January 1990. On a recent trip to Russia, I visited the fast-food restaurant in Moscow. I found that the Moscow location of the fast-food restaurant was a step up from its counterparts in the US. The ordering process was streamlined, the food tasted fresher and more flavorful, and the space was cleaner. On January 31, 1990, more than 30,000 people waited in line in the cold for hours to eat at the very first McDonald's in the USSR. Now, the American fast-food chain has at least 650 locations throughout the country. McDonald's is...

Becca Hill, 24, of Paignton, Devon, is hoping her pet will be found alive, and has asked locals to keep a lookout for it. "My partner was in the garden putting the washing out at the time and suddenly he saw it swoop down. It carried Gizmo a fair way as we couldn't see...

Chick-Fil-A to Become Third-Largest Fast Food Chain in U.S. FROM THE WALL STREET JOURNAL: As the biggest fast-food chains have expanded menus to attract new customers, Chick-fil-A Inc. has gained ground with a different strategy: its focus on chicken sandwiches. Since its founding in Atlanta in 1967 by entrepreneur Truett Cathy, Chick-fil-A’s signature item has been its breaded chicken-breast sandwich served with pickles on a buttered toasted bun. The company sells breakfast and salads, too, but its relatively simple menu stands out, compared with its fast-food rivals. Now five decades later, the closely held company this year is poised to...

Chick-fil-A is set to become the third largest fast-food chain in the United States as their signature chicken sandwiches and waffle fries continue to soar in popularity. Over 50 years after opening the first restaurant in the Atlanta area, Chick-fil-A's sales numbers have risen significantly, bested only by McDonald's and Starbucks, according to food-service consultancy Technomic Inc, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. The company remains privately-owned. “We’ve been pretty consistent in how, over multiple decades, we’re going to take it slow and steady,” said Mark Moraitakis, a Chick-fil-A senior director, speaking of the company’s growth. “It’s paid off...

Members of the victorious Baylor University Lady Bears basketball team were in for a treat during their White House visit on Monday — a buffet of McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A, Wendy’s and Burger King classics. President Trump welcomed the star athletes to the Oval Office in celebration of their 2019 NCAA Division I Championship win, having defeated Notre Dame 82-81 earlier this month. The occasion marked the first women's basketball team – college or professional – to visit to the Trump White House. As noted by USA Today, the official visit from the Texas collegians was something of a return to tradition....

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — There is a new bill working its way through the Statehouse to allow people to use food stamps to buy fast food. Right now, you can only use that money to buy groceries at a store or farmer’s market but if this bill is signed into law, you could order a burger at the nearest fast food joint. House Bill 3343 would establish a Restaurant Meals Program to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP. If passed, recipients can use their monthly allotment to buy meals from restaurants. Only certain recipients qualify: the elderly, disabled, homeless...

Amidst all the mockery over President Donald Trump serving fast food to the Clemson Tigers football team in the White House, there was one surprising contrary note. It came from Megan Garber of The Atlantic on Tuesday which was unusual because she didn't seem to be a fan of Trump judging from her past writings. While most other mainstream media sources were laughing at Trump, Garber had a much different opinion in her article, "The President’s Big-Mac Feast Was Politically Savvy":

Trump says they bought "1,000 burgers" for Clemson. "It was piled up a mile high," he said. FACT CHECK: At two inches each, a thousand burgers would not reach one mile high.

RUSH: Perhaps the greatest example of Trump derangement syndrome today and what, in a sane world, would be a profoundly embarrassing piece of journalism, which is saying a lot given everything that’s happened during the Trump administration. The Washington Post is beside itself. And if you happen to receive the Washington Post daily email blast that is supposed to tell you what’s hot and what’s interesting and what’s leading the day in Washington Post news coverage, this story is at the top of all the news out there. This story is what the Washington Post apparently is the most proud...

Scientists Just Found Something Absolutely Shocking on These McDonald's Self-Order Touchscreens The discovery of fecal bacteria on McDonald's self-order touchscreens is raising concern about their safety. By Peter EconomyThe Leadership Guy @bizzwriter CREDIT: Getty Images Fast-food giant McDonald's has been rolling out touchscreen self-order kiosks in its restaurants for the past several years. While they make ordering your Big Mac, fries, and chocolate shake more efficient and accurate (and they're actually kind of fun), yesterday scientists revealed that they found something on those touchscreens that should be of tremendous concern for McDonald's customers. Bacteria. But not just any kind of...

"We are horrified that a former teenage employee would conduct themselves in that way and make such a video of which we are investigating its authenticity," said Teddy's President Richard Stula, in a statement to Hawaii News Now. He said in addition to terminating the employee, Teddy's has...

If you’ve ever gone out of your way to get to a McDonald’s just to satisfy a craving for their tongue-tingling Coca-Cola, you know how special the fast food giant’s soda is. The Coca-Cola from McDonald’s manages to taste crisper, sharper, even fresher than the same drink from other fast-food restaurants. It’s almost as if they make the Coke taste better so you’ll come in for a “medium Coke, please” and decide, “sure, I’ll take a medium fry.” (Who among us hasn’t?) Truth is, the Coke from McDonald’s isn’t magic. They just use really smart storage tactics and clever drink-mixing...
