With all the recent attention on the remarkable price moves in gold and silver, it is surprising that the question of a comprehensive audit of the U.S. government’s gold reserves, a headline issue last year, has been conveniently memory-holed. For a time in early 2025, both President Trump and Elon Musk, in his semi-official capacity as head of DOGE (the so-called Department of Government Efficiency), were vocal advocates of a comprehensive accounting of U.S. gold reserves. President Trump announced plans to audit Fort Knox. Musk offered to video it. But then something happened. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent gave the public...

President Trump is planning on parting ways with all traces of Elon Musk — including the Tesla he bought at full price on March 11. The president is looking to now sell or give away his red Tesla, a White House official confirmed to The Post. The vehicle is currently parked in the White House parking lot and was intended for staff use. Trump made a big show of buying the Tesla weeks ago to support Musk, who was suffering from nation-wide attacks on Tesla vehicles and buildings. But Trump is still hot over his massive fight with Musk that...

Lake Carnegie is an ephemeral lake that has standing water in it only during wet years, which haven't been the rule in Australia for awhile. But it's a REAL pretty picture when there is water in it. Click for 2x zoom.

Boy, today's Mason Dixon polls do nothing to dissuade the notion of a late-breaking shift back to the Republicans. As you know, I like to whack around pollsters like a pinata, but Mason-Dixon has a good reputation among political professionals - if they're not always right, they almost never give you a really wacky result. In 2004, they got 13 out of 14 swing states right at the presidential level (they put Bush up in Minnesota) and were pretty spot-on in their margin of victory. Today, M-D puts Brown beating DeWine by 6 in Ohio. (Who was writing last night...
