There has been anomalous activity on the San Andreas fault over the last 10 days, now we have a big preshocky cluster right on the Salton sea, 9 in the last hour, 2 over 4.0. Please be sure your water heaters are properly attached

Just woke up to an earthquake in Raleigh, NC. My Earthquake3D app says it was a 5.1 magnitude near Sparta. Friends on Facebook reporting it from mountains to sea. No news on it yet... so here you go!

I was living on the eastern US at the time, when this tragedy happened and I am sorry for the souls lost.

The study, published in the Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America on Monday, says there is now a 2.3% chance of an earthquake of magnitude 7.5 or greater in the next 12 months on a section of the 160-mile-long Garlock fault, which runs along the northern edge of the Mojave Desert. That increased likelihood, in turn, would cause there to be a 1.15% chance of a large earthquake on the San Andreas fault in the next year.
