The 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit about 75 miles south of Chignik in Alaska. Officials have now issued a tsunami warning for South Alaska and the Alaska Peninsula, from Kennedy Entrance to Unimak Pass
The US Tsunami Warning System said tsunami activity was predicted to hit within the next hour at points along the Alaskan coast.
It said Sand Point could be hit at 11.15pm local time (8.15am BST), Kodiak at 12.05am (9.05am BST) and Cold Bay at 12.15am (9.15am BST).

While analysis continues on the potential threat to Vancouver Island it is important to note that should it be determined that there is a tsunami threat it would take in excess of 3 hours for it to reach VI. Please be patient and stand by. #tsunami #earthquake #vancouverisland pic.twitter.com/bfPBeqgTCN— Port Alberni Fire (@portalbernifire) July 22, 2020
7.8 is huge. I wonder when the tsunami warning system will yield first measurements of the tsunami size.

Is Sarah ok? Does she need a Todd to rescue her? I’m available.
Here is hoping a 7.8 is pretty small, all things considered. The 2004 Malaysian tsunami was caused by a 9.1 magnitude quake. A 9.1 magnitude earthquake is 20 times larger with 90 times more energy than a 7.8 magnitude earthquake.
So here is hoping the tsunami is relatively small. Of course epicenter location is everything regarding quakes, so we just have to wait and see, but this should not be Malaysia 2.0. This earthquake is 1/20th of Malaysia.
Portland, Oregon isnt much above sea level... about 50 feet according to DuckDuckGo which also says high tide there is not until 6:30 am their time.
Livestream Dutchsinse the earthquake predictor guy, been waiting for this one:

If it could reach down the coast and wash out Portland and Seattle it would be nice. I guess it would be too much to ask it reach SFO and LA. After all God promised he would never again use water to rid the earth of sinners.
Unfortunatly its protected by the coastal mountain range, so no chance of a tsunami washing away the filth.
Damn...hopes dashed!
Portland sixty miles from Pacific Ocean.
Gee, that would be a shame.
