The West sets shahids on Russia Shortly before the last acts of terrorism, Russia was warned that it would have troubles if Moscow will not hand over Caucasus to the western powers. We have already got used to that the western mass media and policies are sympathetic to the insurgents attacking Russia ostensibly struggling for independence of the Chechen Republic. There is nothing new that the European and American mass-media only casually mention innocent victims of attacks of terrorists and are interested only in telling about sufferings of shahids and their just revenge. Thus they actually paint themselves as instigators...

The United States and Russia clashed yesterday over a way to end the conflict in the breakaway republic of Chechnya, with Washington calling for a political solution and Moscow vowing to crush the separatist movement. Days after a school siege in the Northern Ossetia region that claimed at least 350 lives, Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the West -- and the United States in particular -- of having a double standard when dealing with terrorism. "Why don't you meet Osama bin Laden, invite him to Brussels or to the White House and engage in talks, ask him what he wants...

Colin Powell would be willing to continue serving as secretary of state in a second Bush administration if he were able to take a grip on the direction of US foreign policy, a senior official said on Thursday. According to conventional wisdom in Washington, even if President George W. Bush should win a second term in the November election, Mr Powell would take the opportunity to leave office after the frustrations of being overruled on important policy decisions by a White House in the thrall of neo-conservative ideology. "He could possibly stay on for a year or 18 months, especially...

A serious problem with the most commonly used internet communications protocol has been revealed by computer experts. Experts say the flaw in the Transmission Control Protocol (TPC) could be used to knock out many brands of router - the machines that direct traffic between computer networks on the internet.Details were revealed in an advisory issued by the UK government's National Infrastructure Security Co-Ordination Centre (NISCOC) on Tuesday. The advisory rates the issue as "critical" but states that different hardware and software will be affected to different degrees. Roger Cumming, director of NISCOC says exploitation of this vulnerability could affect the...

The US State Department has long been the most anti-Israel organ of a generally pro-Israel American government, ever since the days when then secretary of state George Marshall fought a pitched battle to prevent the Jewish state from coming into existence. Caroline Glick aptly described one manifestation of this attitude two weeks ago in her analysis of the department's annual human rights report, which personalizes Palestinian intifada victims while leaving Israeli victims nameless and faceless. Nowhere, however, is State's bias more evident than in its steadfast refusal to recognize Israel's capital city as part of the State of Israel. The...

Almojahid's got it wrong. Haganah is the Hebrew word for "Defense" .... Internet "Terrorist" Using Yahoo to Recruit 600 Muslims for Hack Attack February 28, 2004 by Jeremy Reynalds Editor's note: MND is uncomfortable providing direct links to potential terrorist groups. The links below have been edited to prevent collection by linkbots, but the edits should be obvious to human readers. One of the internet's most verbally prolific Islamic "terrorists" is now advocating hacking sites which oppose his radical views. In an e-mail on his Yahoo Groups site titled "Half Moon Operation/First Attack," Daleel Almojahid asks for people to...

LONDON (Reuters) - Cyber blackmail artists are shaking down office workers, threatening to delete computer files or install pornographic images on their work PCs unless they pay a ransom, police and security experts said. The extortion scam, which is believed to have surfaced one year ago, indiscriminately targets anyone on the corporate ladder with a PC connected to the Internet. It usually starts with a threatening e-mail in which the author claims to have the power to take over a worker's computer through an exploit in the corporate network, experts said. The e-mail typically contains a demand that unless a small fee...

BELGRADE, Nov 18 (AFP) - The reformist coalition in Serbia responsible for chasing from office the man blamed for the brutal Balkan wars of the 1990s on Tuesday ceased to exist, following a humiliating defeat in weekend elections. "This coalition has exhausted all its possibilities and missions," one of the leaders, Dragoljub Micunovic, said after the grouping met to call an end to DOS. It was the end of a long road for the uneasy coalition of more than a dozen parties, which began more than three years ago with the aim of ousting then Serbian president Slobodan Milosevic. On...

A severe DoS (Denial of Service Attack) has been launched by several sites/persons unnamed against a lone American site. This American site was considered important enough to attack regardless of the consequences. The attacks brought down many other internet sites in the process. The 'packet storm' has been incredible. Quoting Aaron: "This is not a matter of political opinion. When I say that a site is affiliated with such and such a group, I mean it, and I'm backed up by some of the world's leading experts in Islamic extremism (who are also fluent in Arabic)." Overview Each year, the Diversity Lottery (DV) Program makes 55,000 immigrant visas available through a lottery to people who come from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. Of such visas, 5,000 are allocated for use under NACARA beginning with DV '99. The State Department (DOS) holds the lottery every year, and randomly selects approximately 110,000 applicants from all qualified entries. The DOS selects the approximately 110,000 applications since many will not complete the visa process. However once 55,000 are issued or the fiscal year ends, the DV program is closed. If you receive a visa...

How we trained al-Qa’eda Brendan O’Neill says the Bosnian war taught Islamic terrorists to operate abroad For all the millions of words written about al-Qa’eda since the 9/11 attacks two years ago, one phenomenon is consistently overlooked — the role of the Bosnian war in transforming the mujahedin of the 1980s into the roving Islamic terrorists of today. Many writers and reporters have traced al-Qa’eda and other terror groups’ origins back to the Afghan war of 1979–1992, that last gasp of the Cold War when US-backed mujahedin forces fought against the invading Soviet army. It is well documented that America...

Newt Gingrich recently precipitated a firestorm of controversy when he pointed out that the Department of State was working to sabotage President Bush's security policies. As a case in point, he cited the State Department's machinations behind the so-called "road map" for peace between Israel and the Palestinian front in the Arab- Israeli conflict: "The State Department invention of a Quartet for Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations defies everything the United States has learned about France, Russia, and the United Nations. After the bitter lessons of the last five months, it is unimaginable that the United States would voluntarily accept a system...
