The St. Louis County Republican Caucus was held today at the Missouri River Township Caucus at the Westminster Christian Academy – near highways 40 and 270 this afternoon. Lloyd Sloan was at the conference today. Here is his firsthand account: There were two slates that were voted on today at the convention. One was called “Cruz” and the other “Trump.” So there was no confusion there. The vote took place by a public count. It’s when there is a standing vote and everybody is counted off. It is pretty above board. The vote was tied, 27-27. But a few people...

I got to meet Texas Sen. Ted Cruz last week in New York City. Normally after eyeballing a public figure up close, you report back to friends that, “he’s a lot different in person” – shorter or taller, friendlier or unfriendlier, aloof or “really down-to earth.” Not so with Cruz. That impressed me. Besides being, OK, slightly smaller and significantly better looking in person than on TV, the Ted Cruz I saw and briefly spoke with at an off-the-record sit down at my old political club in Manhattan was the exact same one I’ve been watching in action for the...

Aconservative super PAC is trying to swing Utah voters against Donald Trump in tonight's caucus by slut-shaming his wife Melania Trump. The ad, circulated on social media, shows the former model in a nude 2000 GQ photo shoot with the words: 'Meet Melania Trump, your next First Lady. Or you could vote for Ted Cruz on Tuesday.' Cruz, who has a precarious 50.1per cent polling average, needs to win a majority backing in order to take all 40 of Utah's delegates. Republican strategist Liz Mair, who founded the super PAC Make America Awesome, said that the ads have been targeting...

Sen. Ted Cruz speculated Sunday that Republican presidential rival Donald Trump might be delaying the release of his tax returns because of possible ties with the mob. "Maybe it is the case that Donald, there have been multiple media reports about Donald's business dealings with the mob, with the mafia," Cruz said on "Meet the Press." "Maybe his taxes show those business dealings are a lot more extensive than has been reported," he added. Cruz repeated the suggestion on ABC's "This Week," seemingly stunning host George Stephanopoulos. "Business dealings with the mafia?" Stephanopoulos asked, incredulously.

February 22, 2016A Republic If We Can Keep It - A Message To Ted Cruz Supporters by sundance Ben Franklin told us long ago we have been given a constitutional republic “if you can keep it“. What Dr. Franklin failed to tell the anxious crowd was that inside the convention hall the attendees unanimously agreed, the enemy we needed to keep it from – was ourselves.Last year after assembling volumes of research and data we shared a message that many found troubling; we outlined the GOPe road-map. Some people immediately thought it was ridiculous, however as time has gone along...

(CNN)Ted Cruz argued that since he's the only candidate who has been able to beat Donald Trump, he's the candidate conservatives should turn to as the chief alternative to the businessman. "It is now apparent that the only campaign that can beat Donald Trump and that has beaten Donald Trump is our campaign," he said in an interview on "State of the Union" with CNN's Jake Tapper. Cruz argued that while Trump has "consistently managed to score in the 20s and 30s," many voters view him unfavorably and are concerned about his chances in a general election. "An awful lot...

The back-and-forth between Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz -- battling each other to become Donald Trump's chief competitor -- escalated to new heights on Thursday as Cruz's campaign apparently photoshopped a jubilant Rubio with President Obama and Rubio's campaign fired back by accusing Cruz of "dishonest tactics." What appears to be a doctored image of a smiling Marco Rubio shaking the hand of President Obama appears on the website, TheRealRubioRecord.com, which is paid for by Cruz's campaign. On that site, the text reads: "After more than seven years of the destructive policies of President Obama, we shouldn't replace him with...

The Marco Rubio campaign is livid Thursday after the Ted Cruz campaign released a website that includes a photoshopped image of their candidate shaking hands with President Barack Obama. Cruz’s website “The Real Rubio Record†ironically features a very unreal image of Rubio smiling ecstatically while shaking Obama’s hand. “The Rubio-Obama Trade Pact†the text ominously reads, a reference to Rubio’s support for the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The Cruz website also features a photoshopped image of Rubio smiling while leaning on a business sign reading “Closed.†Among the red flags that the image is fake… who shakes with their left hand? Certainly not the...

Ted Cruz announced on Sunday the endorsements of six state representatives who had previously supported Rand Paul. At least one representative was surprised to see his name. The representative, J.R. Hoell, had met with Mr. Cruz, senator from Texas, on Friday, he said. "I made it clear I could not support him," Mr. Hoell said in a phone interview on Sunday evening

With lawsuits pending and shady partners, Trump's business empire could not withstand the scrutiny of a presidential campaign, and even his kids might have been muddied. Editor's Note, 8/10/15: Four years ago, Wayne Barett reported shady business deals ahead of Trump's flirtation with a White House run. After first exposing Trump’s ties to organized crime in his 1992 book, Barrett looked into his most recent business dealings and discovered the following: One associate who was an "unindicted co-conspirator" in a massive 2000 stock swindle-and escaped prison only by helping to convict 19 others, including six members of New York crime...

Ted Cruz unloaded on his rival Donald Trump after the real estate mogul accused him of voter fraud over Twitter. "I wake up every day and laugh at the latest thing Donald has tweeted," said Cruz, calling Wednesday’s outburst a "Trumpertantrum" brought on by Trump's inability to "debate the substance." On Wednesday morning, Trump sent out a series of tweets demanding the caucus results in Iowa be nullified due to what he claimed was voter fraud perpetrated by the Cruz campaign. In particular, Trump singled out reports that the Cruz campaign told voters during the caucus Dr. Ben Carson had...

Everyone is spinning the Iowa results from last night. Marco Rubio had a surprisingly good night and Donald Trump had a surprisingly mediocre one, the big winner was Ted Cruz. No, not just because he was the actual winner of Iowa. But because of just how different his victory is from candidates in the past. It's monumental. Think about it for a second: The candidate who openly talked about...
