    The Battle of Midway ^ | 06/04/2004 | TonyInOhio
Sixty years ago today, young men of Torpedo Squadron Eight, of the USS Hornet, flew to their deaths in the Battle of Midway. All of these men, save one, died shortly after this photo was taken. As we remember our D-Day veterans this weekend, take a minute to thank God Almighty for the valor of these men, and for their sacrifice in the battle that turned the tide of World War II.
