As President Barack Obama gave his speech to the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, a pro-Israel rally was taking place outside. One of the participants in the rally was a Palestinian Authority Arab named Mazen, who also came to demonstrate in support of Israel. video Wearing a white shirt which read “shalom, peace, salam,” Mazen told Arutz Sheva that he was born in 1971 in Ramallah “in the nation of Israel.” “I come here today to stand before my Jewish brothers, to stand in front of the United Nations, to stand for Israel and to tell Israel how much...

We had been on the sidewalk in front of the Planned Parenthood abortion mill for quite awhile before the security guard arrived. Several abortionist staff had showed up already as had a few clients. Alongside me on the sidewalk were Catholic pro-lifers as well as several evangelicals who are part of the Vital Signs team: Keith, Carol, Bev, Quint, Val, Chet and Claire. We had been praying and, when possible at this difficult facility, talking to the clients across the parking lot.

Police cars have been set on fire during a demonstration outside a police station in north London, according to witnesses. Tottenham resident, Maria Robinson, says the disturbance is linked to the fatal shooting of a man during a Scotland Yard operation on Thursday. Dozens of protesters have been gathering on the High Road in Tottenham.

More than 100 Northwestern University students watched as a naked 25-year-old woman was penetrated by a sex toy wielded by her fiancee during an after-class session of the school’s popular “Human Sexuality” class. The woman said she showed up at the Feb. 21 lecture in the Ryan Family Auditorium in Evanston expecting just to answer questions, but was game to demonstrate. The course’s professor on Wednesday acknowledged some initial hesitation, but said student feedback was “uniformly positive.” And Northwestern defended the class and its professor. “Northwestern University faculty members engage in teaching and research on a wide variety of topics,...

MoveOn is staging a protest in Dallas on Saturday the 26th. I was going to post the "call to action" from their site, but when I tried I got a message that informed me that MoveOn material is not wanted. So instead I will just put the location information up and give the rest of the material to those who specifically request it. It can be found at the bottom of this post. I remember the gathering we pulled off at the Cindy Sheehan circus down in Crawford. Can we do that again? Or improve on it? We can put...

What will happen Monday, history will record in less than 24 hours. The atmosphere is filled by suspense over the call for demonstration. Certainly the city is not calm. There were chants of "Allah-o akbar" across Tehran. People expect something to happen. Publicly, Mr. Karroubi and Mr. Mousavi have called for a demonstration in solidarity with the people of Egypt. Nobody thinks or believes this is about Egypt or will remain focused on Egypt. No wonder that their request has been rejected as illegal. Their advisers have announced that according to Article 27 of Iran's Constitution there is no need...

The Obama administration on Wednesday voiced its support for the Egyptian people’s rights to freedom of expression and assembly, as a second day of protests in Cairo saw police using tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse stone-throwing demonstrators. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs declined to say whether the U.S. still supports Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, reiterating only that Egypt remains a “strong ally.” “We have an unyielding belief that all people yearn for certain things: the ability to speak your mind and have a say in how you are governed; confidence in the...

A rare anti-Vladimir Putin rally has been held in central Moscow, demanding the Russian prime minister's resignation amid signs he is planning to take back his old job as president. Up to 500 protesters from left wing and liberal anti-Kremlin opposition groups gathered on Moscow's Pushkin Square to call for Vladimir Putin's removal, kicking off what they said was the start of a campaign to oust him. "Our task is to free Russia from this awful regime," Garry Kasparov, a former world chess champion turned opposition leader, told the crowd. "Putin is Russia's disgrace."

Boilermakers who staged a large, rush-hour rally yesterday along Banksville Road to support energy production with clean coal technologies say they're trying to prevent their profession from becoming obsolete. Roughly 400 members of Boilermakers Local Union 154 held a morning demonstration on both sides of the key, four-lane traffic artery, near their union hall. They urged policy makers to include coal in plans to meet the nation's future energy needs. "Just keep coal in the mix," said Ray Ventrone, business manager for the union. "If they don't go with clean coal technology -- if they decide to go with windmills...

Close to 20 businesses were damaged after what started as a peaceful immigrants' rights march in downtown Santa Cruz turned violent, requiring police to call other agencies for help, authorities said. Police spokesman Zach Friend said an estimated 250 people started marching through the city around 10:30 p.m. Saturday. It was a harmonious but "unpermitted and unsanctioned event," he said, until some in the crowd started breaking windows and spraying paint on retail shops that line the downtown corridor. Friend said he wasn't sure if the damage was caused by people marching in support of immigrants' rights, or if the...

United we stand, divided we rule. At least, that appears to be the motto of our President. While violence spills over the border with Mexico, Obama is more concerned with the mid-term elections. He refuses to address the gaping holes in our borders and the thousands of illegals that are committing crimes on our streets, but he has time to produce a video urging Democrats to maintain their grip on the House and Senate. In the two-minute and 42-second video released Monday, Obama emphasizes that, "It will be up to each of you to make sure that the young people,...

Snips: ....The Vanguard of St. Catherine of Siena, called for the ex-communication of Nancy Pelosi in a demonstration just outside the Vatican. They are also asking Archbishop Wuerl of the Archdiocese of Washington, DC to enforce the Pope´s position on the distribution of Communion to pro-abortion politicians which was communicated in a 2004 letter, "Worthiness to Receive Holy Communion," which he wrote when he was Cardinal Ratzinger. Terry stated, "Nancy Pelosi has betrayed the Catholic faith, fought to shed innocent blood, and repeatedly voted to take money from Americans to pay for the murder of innocent babies......"Meanwhile, Washington DC Archbishop Donald Wuerl,...

As a member of our local Northern Pinellas County 9-12 Group, in Florida, we have held many demonstrations at a very busy street corner on Saturday mornings. The 9-12 Groups, first initiated by Glen Beck, have ignited like wild fires all around the nation as a way for like minded Americans to learn about their nation’s history and our governmental rights. The political pressure of the Tea Party and 9-12 groups on our more liberal thinking neighbors must be taking its toll as their totally unexplainable reactions to our signs is becoming more and more exaggerated. Can someone please explain...

PITTSBURGH — Police fired canisters of pepper spray and smoke at marchers protesting the Group of 20 summit Thursday after anarchists responded to calls to disperse by rolling trash bins and throwing rocks. The afternoon march turned chaotic at just about the time that President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama arrived for a meeting with leaders of the world's major economies. The clashes began after hundreds of protesters, many advocating against capitalism, tried to march from an outlying neighborhood toward the convention center where the summit is being held. The protesters banged on drums and chanted "Ain't no...

There were angry clashes in a city centre today as right-wing protesters fought with anti-fascist campaigners in a busy shopping street. More than twenty men have been arrested. 'There were about 250 people in total, fighting and Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1211414/Anti-fascists-clash-right-wing-protesters-Birmingham.html#ixzz0QFxinqVM
