A convoy of tractor-trailers planning to circle the Capital Beltway in protest of the federal government has begun its descent on the Washington area and is causing some traffic problems for the morning commute. The “Truckers Ride for the Constitution,” which organizer Zeeda Andrews said could attract as many as 3,000 big rigs to the nation’s capital, only had about 10 participants as of 8:30 a.m. Andrews insists the convoy is meant to be a peaceful protest rather than a traffic clog.
