Former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin – whose lips have been sealed about the recent repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” – is now hinting that she supports the move. Palin has not spoken publicly about the end of the ban on gays serving openly in the military, but she appeared to show support for the change via a retweet on Monday night of a gay conservative radio host.

NORFOLK, Va. — The Navy officer who aired lewd videos for crew of an aircraft carrier was temporarily relieved of his command on Tuesday, NBC News has learned. A Navy announcement was expected during a news conference set for 2 p.m. ET. Capt. Owen Honors commands the USS Enterprise, currently stationed in Norfolk, Va., and hosted the videos while he was second in command aboard the aircraft carrier. Honors was relieved while the Navy investigates the incident. Made in 2006 and 2007, the videos just came to light over the weekend and show the crew got an eyeful on shipboard...

Sarah Palin has remained silent on the issue of repealing “don’t ask, don’t tell,†which Congress passed in the lame-duck session — at least until now. ABC News’ Devin Dwyer has been on the Twitter beat and reports that Palin retweeted a message from radio host Tammy Bruce that supports the end of DADT: But Monday night the former Alaska governor re-tweeted a post from conservative talk show host and blogger Tammy Bruce, who is lesbian, appearing to indirectly cast support for gays and an end to the ban on openly gay members of the U.S. military.Bruce had been commenting...

This warrior did nothing wrong, and to make it worse, it is for training material that is at least 3 years old, was known to everyone, that his crews applauded, and that was all light-hearted banter to get the attention of the sailors aboard the Enterprise.

A nuclear aircraft carrier senior officer will be relieved of duty temporarily over videos he made that feature profanity and gay slurs. But Navy sailors are rushing to his defense online. "I would love to go to sea with a man like this," wrote one sailor on Facebook.

Former vice presidential candidate and reality television star Sarah Palin has remained quiet over the recent repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell. But she may have just made a statement... by re-Tweeting a conservative lesbian's columnist's Tweet about 'homos.' Around 10 p.m. Eastern time on Monday night, conservative pundit Tammy Bruce Tweeted about the recent repeal of the military's discriminatory Don't Ask Don't Tell policy: But this hypocrisy is just truly too much. Enuf already—the more someone complains about the homos the more we should look under their bed Tue Jan 04 03:12:46 via web The idea being, one imagines,...

January 3, 2011 Dear Mr. xzxzxzxzx, Thank you for contacting me with your concerns. I appreciate hearing from you. While the 111th Congress has come to a close, I have heard from a great number of Arkansans on a wide variety of issues. Please know I have taken note of your specific comments and concerns, and I will keep them in mind as I continue to work across the aisle to find legislative solutions. One of the specific concerns you mentioned in your letter relates to the repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy currently in effect for U.S....

AFP - Soviet spy veteran Grigor Vardanyan looked at Kim Philby's immaculately-kept pipe and sighed. "He was such a cultured man," the former agent said of one of Britain's most notorious turncoats. "So educated. So well prepared. He served our cause until the end." Such fond memories were being murmured through the great halls of Moscow's World War II museum as Russia's foreign intelligence service, in a rare exhibition, revealed the tools it has been using for the past decades to outsmart the West. There was the British "Cambridge Five" member Philby's Olympia Splendid 99 typewriter and KGB identification card....

The U.S. Navy will temporarily relieve Capt. Owen Honors of his post pending investigation of the series of explicit videos he is said to have produced when he was second in command of the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, sources tell ABC News. Capt. Honors is under investigation for a series of raunchy videos in which he appeared from 2006 to 2007. The videos featured a series of skits that aimed to provide some humor during the long deployment at sea. At the time the videos were produced, the Enterprise was operating in support of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq....

FULL TITLE: George Washington Approved Soldier’s Dismissal for Attempt ‘To Commit Sodomy’ at Valley Forge, With ‘Detestation of Such Infamous Crimes’ The Democrat-controlled Congress passed and President Barack Obama signed, a few days before Christmas, legislation to repeal the law against homosexuals serving in the military. Back in 1778, at Valley Forge, however, Gen. George Washington approved the dismissal of a soldier for “attempting to commit sodomy,” with “abhorrence and detestation of such infamous crimes,” according to Washington’s papers at the Library of Congress. Washington (1732-1799) was the leader of the Continental Army in America’s revolutionary war against Britain and...

MADRID — The Spanish city of Barcelona will erect a monument to gays, lesbians and transgendered people who have been persecuted and repressed "throughout history", it announced Thursday. The exact site of the pink, triangular stone monument has not yet been decided, but a spokesman for the city hall said the square outside the Sacred Heart, or Sagrada Familia, basilica "is one location that has been proposed". Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the city's emblematic Antonio Gaudi-designed church last month as hundreds of gays and lesbians staged a mass "kiss-in" to protest the Roman Catholic Church's stance on homosexuality. A statement...

Where were all the presidential candidates* as the vote to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell was nearing? The collective silence was loud. Only Rush Limbaugh brashly called the repeal, “gays in the military, show and tell”. But at the end it was largely a GOP candidates no-show and no-tell. Before the recent votes in the lame-duck session of Congress repealing DADT (a policy that dated back to the Bill Clinton administration), I called on politicians to come out and announce their positions. Former governor of New Mexico Gary Johnson wrote a piece for the Huffington Post saying he was against...

Frankly I think Capt. Owen Honor should report to Washington and come out of the closet saying he is a repressed homosexual who can finally express his true feelings now with the reform of DADT. I am not sure what the politically correct class in DC would do then, but it would be fun to watch.

snip With the repeal expected to be in effect by late February, Ms. Miller said she is busy filling out her application to transfer back to West Point. If granted readmission, Ms. Miller would rejoin the academy this fall as a junior. "My intention the entire time has been to help the military, not to provide disruption, but to provide an example of why this policy needs to go," said the 2008 Findlay graduate, who wasn't open about her sexuality in high school. "All too often people leave silently, and you don't see the toll that the policy has on...

The removal of "Don't Ask, don't tell" causes problems, we know that. When the GoP comes back to power it can re-instate it or make it "No gays in the military" namely how it was BEFORE DADT. However, IMHO there are a couple of problems: 1. This will take 2+ years, by that time, gays will be entrenched in the military. Do we throw them out? If yes, then expect long court cases 2. What of the "closet" gays like the guy who leaked the WikiLeaks? I believe that the Dem's think that this is such a tricky and non-pc...

A top officer aboard a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier broadcast to his crew a series of profanity-laced comedy sketches in which he uses gay slurs, mimics masturbation and opens the shower curtain on women pretending to bathe together, a newspaper reported. The Virginian-Pilot reported in its Sunday editions that Capt. Owen Honors appeared in the videos in 2006 and 2007 while he was the USS Enterprise's second-ranking officer, and showed them across the ship on closed-circuit television. He took over as the ship's commander in May. (snip) "The videos were intended to be humorous skits focusing the crew's attention on specific...

With the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” looking imminent, the next question on America’s mind is what a military with openly gay soldiers will look like. Most experts, including Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen, believe that a repeal of the discriminatory law won’t at all endanger the military’s stability. And a large majority of enlisted troops agree with them. But what if a military that welcomes gays and lesbians with open arms doesn’t just not fall part, but actually shows remarkable improvement? For decades now, scientists seeking to understand why people...

NEWS COLUMNISTS Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, don’t enlist John Douglas Staff Reportnews@covnews.comDecember 31, 2010 Recently we watched the U.S. House and Senate pass and the president sign the repeal of the so-called "Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell" policy of preventing open homosexuality in the military. This effort to destroy military unit cohesion comes to us because the president owes a large political debt to militant homosexuals and as a result of a Department of Defense survey sent to personnel currently serving. But 66 percent of the troops either ignored or answered NO in the survey that the president and Secretary of Defense...

What does he want? Revenge. For what? Being born. This is the way famous gunslinger Doc Holliday answers equally famous lawman and good friend Wyatt Earp’s inquiry - in their depiction in the movie Tombstone - into why their sworn enemy, Johnny Ringo, is such a misanthrope. Sadly, this description would be equally accurate in explaining the actions of another Arizona transplant filled with endless rage: Senator John McCain. I first encountered the seething side of McCain when I was writing my 2008 book, The Real McCain, which was critical of him while pointing out a then-controversial fact, one no...
