The significance of this NBC/Wall Street Journal poll is two fold. First, it is the first poll to be conducted completely after the news of Antonin Scalia’s passing and Trump’s meltdown at the South Carolina CBS News debate. Second, it is from a highly respected pollster focused on likely voters and who has a good track record of success. The poll shows Ted Cruz in the lead now. It could be an anomaly. But internal polling of several campaigns all show the South Carolina race far tighter than the public polling. This latest poll, however, does not account for Nikki...

Amy Lindsay has appeared in films such as Erotic Confessions, Carnal Wishes, Secrets of a Chambermaid, and Insatiable Desires. "Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad," a Cruz campaign spokesman told BuzzFeed News. Ted Cruz's campaign has pulled its most recent ad, "Conservatives Anonymous," after learning one of the actresses in the spot is also a softcore porn star. The ad, which was set at a group therapy session of conservative voters who feel betrayed by Marco Rubio on immigration, featured actress Amy Lindsay, who played a woman...

Citibank, in particular, played a major role in one of the Trump’s organization’s more notorious bankruptcies, when the Trump Plaza Hotel in Atlantic City was underwater and Trump owed over $550 million on it to various creditors, with Citibank at the head. In order to restructure his debt, Trump gave Citibank and other creditors a 49% ownership interest in the hotel. As for Goldman Sachs, Trump is himself a shareholder in Goldman Sachs, which means he has a direct financial interest in its success. One would think that would make Trump even less enthusiastic about protecting me from Goldman Sachs (whatever...

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump took aim at rival Ted Cruz in a series of Saturday morning tweets, taunting Cruz over challenges to his citizenship and reports that he did not disclose campaign loans. Trump has tried to stoke concerns that Cruz would face legal challenges to his eligibility for president because he was born in Canada. After a Friday lawsuit questioning exactly that, Trump took a victory lap. "Ted Cruz was born in Canada and was a Canadian citizen until 15 months ago. Lawsuits have just been filed with more to follow. I told you soRepublican presidential front-runner Donald...

Ever since Donald Trump entered the Republican presidential race, I've been a Trump-skeptic. I understood his appeal. I got why angry and alienated Republican rank-and-file voters have glommed onto his campaign. And I could even sketch out a scenario in which Trump could win. Yet, even as his poll numbers rose and he seemed immune from the political pitfalls that usually fell first-time candidates, I couldn't quite buy the notion that Trump, former reality star and full-time blowhard, could be the Republican nominee for president. It all just seemed too far-fetched. Surely, at some point Trump would implode. Those doubts...

'How stupid are the people of Iowa?' declared Trump during a rally at Iowa Central Community College

He is friends with the Clintons. He politically supported Hillary in the past. He has given the Clinton Foundation hundreds of thousands of dollars. He has been more liberal than conservative than the naked eye can see. Most of the liberal news sites and outlets are reporting on a WaPo article stating Bill Clinton and Donald Trump had a chat at the end of last spring. Could Bill Clinton have called Trump to make this GOP run in order to derail any other GOP candidate and pull votes away from a legit conservative (should he decide an independent run if...

Ted Cruz on Tuesday suggested attacks from Republican presidential rival Donald Trump are being promoted by allies of Democrat Hillary Clinton.Trump has for two weeks repeated questions about Cruz's birthplace and whether he is eligible to be president.Cruz responded by suggesting Democrats are "very eager" to support those questions in an effort to boost Trump toward winning the nomination."It's more than a little strange to see Donald relying on ... a liberal left-wing judicial activist Harvard law professor who is a huge Hillary supporter. It starts to make you think, gosh, why are Hillary's strongest supporters backing Donald Trump?" Cruz...

WASHINGTON — Mikhail Lesin, a former aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin who helped found the English-language news service Russia Today, has been found dead in an upscale Washington hotel room. The Russian Embassy in Washington on Friday confirmed the death of Lesin, whose body was discovered Thursday. Russia Today reported on its website that Lesin, 57, died of a heart attack. Russian Embassy spokesman Yury Melnik confirmed that the man was Lesin. Russia...

Ted Cruz continues to lead in six out of the most recent eight polls coming out of Iowa (and tying in a seventh), despite blistering left-wing and birtherism attacks from Donald Trump. Polls reported in Real Clear Politics show him leading anywhere from two to ten points over Trump. Trump has remarked that he has attracted much larger crowds than Ted Cruz, but so has Shamu the Killer Whale at Seaworld; it does not mean, however, that Shamu is going to win the GOP nomination for President. If the polls are correct, it must mean that many people who show...

In the nationally televised address, Kim pledged to seek improved relations with South Korea and boost his country's economy. (Kyodo) ==KyodoFirst, candidate Trump carried on a long-distance bromance with Russian strongman Vladimir Putin, calling him "a strong leader" and saying it was a "great honor" to have Putin compliment him.Now Trump has expressed admiration for an even loonier goon: North Korea's boy tyrant Kim Jong Un. Speaking at a rally in Ottumwa, IA, Trump veritably gushed about the leadership qualities of Kim.The Hill:...

Republican primary front-runner Donald Trump says North Korean communist dictator Kim Jong-un deserves "credit" for the cutthroat efficiency with which he disposes of his political foes. "If you look at North Korea, this guy, he's like a maniac, OK?" Trump said at a rally in Ottumwa, Iowa, on Saturday. "And you've got to give him credit: How many young guys - he was like 26 or 25 when his father died - take over these tough generals and all of a sudden, you know, it's pretty amazing when you think of it. How does he do that?" he added. “Even...

After fanning the flames of doubt that pressured Barack Obama to publicize a purported copy of his official birth certificate, Donald Trump's latest statements suggest the White House-released document may be a fake. "I don't know exactly what he showed," Trump told the Faith & Freedom Coalition annual conference in Washington, D.C., over the weekend, " but you know, someday somebody's gonna figure that one out." The famed businessman also intoned, "Nobody is protected like Barack Hussein Obama," Politico reports. "I have never seen press that is so protective of a human being before." Though Trump's true stance on the...

Billionaire businessman Donald Trump, who staged a weeks-long public campaign questioning Barack Obama's eligibility to be president during March and April – and rose to the top of the pool of potential candidates for the 2012 GOP nomination then as a result – says he believes the "birth certificate" released by the White House is forged.... Trump said his period of almost-complete silence on the issue following the release by the White House on April 27 of the image of a "Certificate of Live Birth" from the state of Hawaii was not because he was satisfied with the document.... During...
