Saudi oil output hike would not solve US problems: Bush US President George W. Bush said on Saturday that a hike in oil output by Saudi Arabia would not solve American energy problems. "It's not enough, it's something but it doesn't solve our problem," Bush told reporters in Egypt's Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. Bush said he was "pleased" with a Saudi decision taken on May 10 to increase its oil production by 300,000 barrels per day in response to customers, but said that he was "also realistic" about what the Americans should do. "Our problem in America gets...

I's like some Freepers opinions as to who possibly can run on the Dem side? Conventional wisdom aside, I don't think Hillary will get the nomination- too many dems either don't like her or don't think she can win the election. Obama? Not his time. Gore, Edwards, Kerry? They are past their time. There has to be some unknown out there, or some voice from the past, but who? Speculation invited.

Just like a terrorist calculating how to bring down the U.S. economy, Iran is playing the cards perfectly. By making the most infuriating statements, they seem to be succeeding. The statements against Israel, the threats to cut off oil, the warnings of nuclear ambitions- these are the tools being used to bring down our country by the standard terror weapon: fear. Judging by the price of oil and the stock market, unfortunately it seems to be working. They don't need planes anymore. Just get some wingnut in Iran elected and have him make the most provocative statements imaginable and our...

A boat filled with elderly tourists taking a pleasure cruise on Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York capsized suddenly and sank yesterday afternoon under a clear sky, killing 21 passengers and injuring several more, the authorities said. The Ethan Allen, a 40-foot, glass-enclosed tour boat, went down with 49 people aboard, only a few hundred feet from the lake's western shore, about two miles north of the village of Lake George. Witnesses and officials said the boat had flipped over with startling speed, and might have been swamped by the wake of a bigger boat.Brian Heart,...

The Bush Reelection Imperative By EDITORIAL BOARD Last week we endorsed George W. Bush for reelection. It is impossible to overstate just how important it is that readers who agree that President Bush deserves our support — particularly readers in such swing states as Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ohio — go to the polls next Tuesday. As we noted last week, the central task of the winner of this election will be to lead our country at a time when most Third World nations — individually and, in the United Nations, collectively — view the U.S. as the fount of...

I saw a great video ad posted here but I searched for the original post and it seems to be missing. It was a very powerful ad which asks the question at the end, "When you vote on November 2nd, ask yourself one question:Will you feel more secure tomorrow than you do today?" My question is, where did this ad come from? Who sponsored it and will we be seeing it on TV? There are no credits given on the video. Click this link to see the video.

Why this Jewish American is voting for George W. Bush By Naomi Ragen As you know, I'm going off on my book tour to talk about The Covenant, a novel that tells the truth about Palestinian terrorism, and the ordinary Israelis who have been fighting on the front lines for years. By the time I come back, the election for President of the United States will be over and done, and we won't have this bone of contention to deal with, you and I. This is my last word on this topic. But before I go, I'd like to tell...

During last night's VP debate, Edwards kept hammering at "Halliburton... Halliburton" and Cheney absolutely refused to meet him there. A class act by Cheney, one of many during the debate. I was wondering how he might answer spitballboy and at the time I kept thinking, "rebutt!" But now I realize Cheney made Edwards look even smaller by not even addressing the issue.

It is taking what seems like forever to load pages tonight. I don't know if it's the new upgrades which were done over the weekend, high traffic overloading the servers, or the DNC trying to hack in. I don't mean to complain, but I thought it was worth pointing out.

Kudos to Bush for not playing nice with NAACP By Sylvester Brown Jr. Of the Post-Dispatch 07/18/2004 Sylvester Brown Jr. President George W. Bush deserves credit for his candor, if for nothing else. Black leaders and Democrats have been bashing Bush for refusing to attend the 95th annual NAACP convention in Philadelphia last week. When asked why he skipped the convention, Bush didn't mince words. "You've heard the rhetoric and the names they've called me," Bush said. "I would describe my relationship with the current leadership as basically nonexistent." Now, that's a refreshing, nonpolitical response. Basically, the president said, "Hey,...

I don't know about you all, but I am happy to see Kerry rising to the top. I think he is the only viable candidate not being manipulated by the Klintoons. I always felt that he was the only sane one of the bunch and I will be glad to see a campaign season without McAwful stinking everything up. Of course I believe he will lose the election, but the air for the next 10 months will be easier to breathe.

U.S. says WMD went from Iraq to Syria WASHINGTON, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- U.S. intelligence officials Wednesday released an assessment that Iraqi weapons of mass destruction have been transferred to neighboring Syria. The officials, in the first assessment of its kind, said the transfer occurred during the weeks prior to the U.S.-led war against the Saddam Hussein regime. Middle East Newsline reported the U.S. assessment was based on satellite images of convoys of Iraqi trucks that poured into Syria during February and March. U.S. intelligence officials say the trucks contained missiles and WMD components banned by the U.N.'s Security Council....
