Zipped this off to Rush and others tonight:

    Dear Rush,

Well, we reap what we sow - You (and I do mean you, Rush, and others) anoint a moderate buffoon to the White House (who I too voted for twice as the lesser of two evils) because of expedient politics instead of on honest Conservative values and real leadership…

Add unqualified political appointments that result in bad politically-correct military tactics and policy on the battlefield, poor politically-correct management of our borders and illegal aliens…

Add Republican empty suits in Congress, beholden to traitorous out-sourcing / open-borders big multinational corporate money, betraying the conservative revolution of Newt; Too busy enjoying being in control spending our money, while trying way too hard to be nice and bipartisan to enemies on the other side of the aisle and in their midst…

Which leads back to the main offender - The utopian moderate in the White House (nice honest guy though) which also lacked the spine and leadership, and yes – ruthlessness, to keep Congress in line (or to decisively win a war).

The Result = The Socialist (Communist) Party (PC term: Secular Progressives) now control Congress – The worst of the worst; the far left will now hold key positions.

Bravo, Rush…this country is now officially screwed. While more honest Conservatives like Sean Hannity and Michael Savage tried to warn Republicans on a whole host of important issues, you continued to narrowly parrot the official Republican line…yes, you would elude to it on occasion, but just couldn’t say Bush by name. Well continue to run your funny parodies, which I’m sure will be even more funny with Pelosi in charge now.

    Sincerely,

PS: I voted for every Republican on the SC ballot today…no problems here this time (except for when Lindsey Graham comes up for re-election, who will not have my vote).

Well thank you President Bush for that...and while your at it, how about commenting that these are the people who were dancing in the streets on 9-11...how about we have some more democratic elections that these savages can vote in? I'm sure Carter, who gave away Iran in a similar manner to the mullahs, would approve.

Let's let the military fight the war on terror to win and anihilate terrorists and countries that sponsor them in short order with all superior weaponry at our disposal (that my tax dollars pay for, and we're not using), and then bring home our soldiers who are supposed to be wariors, not politicians, policemen, or red cross workers; and then relocate them to our borders in 'training' mode behind a lethal wall.

Say What?! Duh! Was he serrious with such a stupid question statement?! Let me count the ways, many of which mentioned in this thread.

Bush's handlers are either on vacation in the midst of our 'war on terror,' or have also lost it.

I too am still suspicious of the Judges, even with the improved scoring system. Case in point - Earlier in tonight's short program, how does one skater who practically falls on a landing, and the NBC commentator says "that will cost her dearly," and she is still awarded above previous skaters who did an apparent flawless program, and a better progam?

I am also starting to wonder about the NBC commentary too - has there been some secret policy set on not commenting on or criticizing the judges scores when anounced in olympics this year; warnings from the 'olympic movement?' Glaring instances such as mentioned above where the commentator made that statement, and then at the end of the program when apparent unwarranted scores are posted, and then total silence from all the commentators makes me start to wonder.

He's lost me too, and on a host of other related issues, such as no border control, illegal alien invasion, pushing for illegal alien amnesty, and PC limitations and rules of engagement on our military.

Nothing bugs me more than the less than adequate coverage of NBC who feel they have to be the story and/or create one, taking up tons of air time away from the actual competition, instead of just showing the damn events (not curling please). It seems that everything has to be packaged for presentation.

It was refreashing when I was stationed in Germany to see German TV coverage of Olympics at the time, where instead of a zillion comercials and corporate tidbits, and endless studio commentaries and documentaries, one got to see all of the events in real time, and everyone from all nations in the events. Even when Olympics past were in our time zone, our coverage was still taped and packaged, if I recall correctly.

Kudos, however for the coverage that is done over several NBC networks (but almost non-stop Curling coverage on USA?!?!), especially good is the men's hockey coverage.

'Robust trade' and selling out to big money and multinationals, to the all mighty dollar, seems to trump or be on equal footing to our national security for Bush's handlers and political hacks, like the 'Homeland Security Director.' Along with political correctness and inane diplomatic niceties, this moderate administration is becoming a big dissapointment in agressively waging the war on terror, protecting our borders and entry points, and protecting the welfare of average Americans to this Conservative who voted for them as the lesser of evils over the Leftist, Socialist, appeasing Demoncrats.

I'm only concerned about the words 'detention' and 'processing facillities.' - That denotes letting the illegal alien invasion, Mexican army, and possible terorrists to boot, come across the border, instead of being stopped and turned back, or shot, when they try to scale two very tall concertina-wired fences, and made it across a heavily surviellanced and mined no-mans land.

True, but I'm so pissed that there are only a handfull of Conservatives left in the Republican party, I'm just not going to reward them any more (our senator from SC. can forget about my vote, especially after his conduct at the NSA hearings today, and previous moderate stances). I'm disgusted with both parties, and all politicians; we're not the country our forefathers and constitution envisioned; the experiment has failed.

Agreed - I had an interesting experience in working in N.O. for a time, and I have never seen, or worked in, a more backwards, incompetent, corrupt, crime-ridden and childish atmosphere in my life. It was no supprise to me with what happened, and is no supprise what's happening today.

Ditto - I likewise didn't have a favorite in this game (Packers fan). But am very tired of the unprofessional officiating in the NFL. I very much agree with the recommendations in the article, especially about acountability to the press and the fans. They need full-time professionals like other pro sports.

And what was up with the overwhelming majority of tickets going to Steeler fans when this is supposed to be a neutral venue? More ammo for my idea of the city, fans and team of the best record in the Super Bowl be rewarded with the game in their stadium, and making all the frivalous Hollywood and corporate garbage that's overtaking and interfering with the actual game adapt to that.

What else do you expect from the 'Peoples Republic of Madison,' otherwise known as 'San Fransico of the Midwest.'

Usless arguments having to do with criminal law and domestic wire taps, which have nothing to do with operations directed at foreign enemies, and are not 'wire taps' at all.

Exactly - We should have hit Iran before Iraq, if we had to choose; they were the bigger threat militarily, and already the main sponsor of Islamic terror.

To your question - I believe that we invaded Iraq first because of our unfortunate need to bow to the UN and what the world thinks about us. Under so-called international law and moderate political thinking, Iraq was the easier target to justify our actions to the world in that they had violated or ignored numerous UN dictates and technically a state of war still existed in the violation of the cease fire by Iraq. Militarily, it was the easier target, as we had already decimated their air force and most of their army.

Normally, that might have been a good strategy if we had fought the war to win militarily, instead of also politically, and anihilated the enemy from the air (without months of UN delay and notice), followed by ground troops to mop up, and then use Iraq as a staging area to hit Iran and Syria; instead of the evident questionable tactic of attempting to convert Islamofacists and the rest of the Arab street to demmocracy with the end results such as Hamas elected in Palistine.

Instead of all the Hollywood hype, the game should be played in the stadium of the team in the game with the best record, or something along those lines, instead of it going to a 'sewer of a city' for political / monetary, or whatever reasons that have nothing to do with the game.

The cities and the fans (and teams) that put up the bucks, support and blood, sweat and tears for their teams to get to the Superbowl should be rewarded with the game in one of their hometowns, with large blocks of tickets reserved for fans of both teams, not just for big corporate junkets and the like. Someone complains that the Super Bowl site needs to be decided early on for all the festivities and arrangements - that's just the non-football hype talking; The playoff sites weren't decided until a week before, and for some reason, there's a two week break before the big game.
