VERMONT HOMESCHOOLER NEEDS HELP!!! Tonight (September 13, 2002) at approximately 6:00 p.m. the home of Patricia O'Dell's ailing mother was surrounded by state police, SRS agents and local police the same way the Gonzales house was surrounded in Florida a few years ago. Patricia informed them they could not enter the home without a warrant. While the house remained surrounded these stormtroopers went and got their warrant and then kicked in the back door. Patricia was visiting her ailing mother who was just recently released from the hospital. Patricia's mother was summarily threatened with pepper spray and Patricia was dragged...

FYI Dear Fran: Homeschool Mom Patricia O'Dell Ripped The VT DOE A New One! Dear Fran: I've been going over Patricia's hearing in my mind these past few days but haven't been able to put anything down in writing except the article I did. I've been trying to help her get into some sort of housing for the winter and that has me side-tracked. I thought I'd start to write down what I remember in a few emails to you just to get me started and then I can eventually work that into some sort of report later. The Hearing ...

Source: The Curmudgeon Newsletter--A Vermont Newsletter With An Attitude! 21 November 2001 HORSE WHIPPING IS TOO GOOD FOR COMPLIANT HOMESCHOOLERS by Cindy Wade Compliant homeschooling parents ought to be taken out behind the barn and horse whipped. After attending a state run Home Study Inquisition yesterday (November 20) in a state owned building in downtown Rutland I am convinced, now more than ever, that homeschoolers should never EVER enroll their children in the Vermont Home Study program. If they do then they deserve the hassles they get and they are no less guilty of educational abuse as are the public ...

Vermont Freepers, Homeschoolers, Lawyers, Legislators & Media Members, You may have heard about the plight of homeschooling mom, Patricia O'Dell. We were all wondering who the next Karen Maple would be--well, here she is! BACKGROUND: Patricia has four homeschooling children, two of which were previously on IEP's that she has taken out of special education. The state would only 'approve' Patricia's homeschooling if she agreed to keep her children on IEP's that would require the children to attend public school part-time. I was under the impression the law requires an 'enrollment notification' not a 'request permission to homeschool' notice! Once ...

I have been given permission by the party involved to seek the assistance of the following: Vermont Homeschoolers, Lawyers, Legislators & Media Members, The Vermont Department of Education, its Commissioner and its Home Study Consultant are at it again. We now know who the next Karen Maple is. Her name is Patricia O'Dell of Fair Haven, Vermont. Patricia has four homeschooling children, two of which were previously on IEP's that she has taken out of special education. Once again, state and school officials are persecuting a poor, single mother down on her luck. Patricia enrolled her 4 children in the ...

The photo of a mom and her two homeschooled children protesting on the sidewalk in front of the office of Senator James Jeffords appeared in the Saturday, April 7 edition of the Rutland Herald (Vermont) newspaper. The caption reads: "Cindy Wade (middle) and her children, Zebhdiyah Pykosz (right) and Annaquista Pykosz, protest in front of the office of Senator James Jeffords, R-Vt., in Rutland, demanding that he support President Bush's tax cut plan. Jeffords did vote for a reduced version of the plan Friday." Cindy's sign reads: "Thanks, Jim! (Jeffords used this slogan in his campaign bid for reelection in ...

Some information concerning the Santana High School (Santee, California) shooting has been brought to my attention concerning the background of one of the victims. I need to confirm if one of those victims was formerly a homeschooler. Any information would be greatly appreciated. If this information is proven true it will have a great impact on a present lawsuit here in Vermont.

AP reports: "Rev. Jesse Jackson Admits to Child Out of Wedlock By Andrea Shalal-Esa" "WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Civil rights activist Rev. Jesse Jackson, who counseled President Clinton after his affair with Monica Lewinsky, on Thursday admitted that he had fathered a daughter out of wedlock...."

I for one find Liberals and most Democrats vile, despicable, hypocritical human vermin and fully intend to let my views be known to others. They need to save their unjust and stomach churning laws such as 'hate' crimes, homosexual marriage and compulsory slavery to forced public schooling for their own children and family members. I prefer to abide by the supreme law of the land--the U.S. Constitution and God's Law! I will teach my children the same since they DO NOT belong to the state! I will also continue to empower and assist other parents to do the same! If ...

Have we had enough yet? Recently the Barre Town (Vermont) Elementary School Board took steps to discontinue the Boy Scouts recruitment practices at Barre Town Elementary. This made the TV news, outraging many Vermonters and Take Back Vermont leaders. This is the latest in the nauseating fad of political correctness: another slap in the face by our educational "thought police", another poke in the eye of Traditional Values, common sense, another mindless assualt against a fine institution that has been an historic bulwark in American life. This is dispicable and groundless discrimination; in no way do the recruitment practices of ...

After watching and listening to Senator Bob Kerry on television last evening we've decided to add Senator Kerry's name to our 'despicable characters' column in our homeschooling history/civics class. Kerry's name is now listed alongside of Adolf Hitler, Benedict Arnold, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, Pol Pot, Governor Howard Dean (VT) and others. I'm a military veteran. I was amazed that Kerry could actually go on national television and lie the way he did, but then, look at the company he keeps. For a supposed war hero he sure is 'UNPATRIOTIC' and he thinks Americans are pretty dern stupid ...

Home-schooled 'truant' faces charges 'Persecuted' parents decry attempts to block them from teaching son By Julie Foster © 2000 WorldNetDaily.com A 17-year-old Nebraska student, whose parents say the state's "ludicrous" bureaucracy has attempted to force their learning-disabled son into a "lock-down" for delinquent children, rather than let the parents continue to home-school him -- now faces probation violation charges in addition to truancy. Tony Mercer, a student in North Platte, Neb., is scheduled to appear in county court in October with his parents. The court will evaluate the teen-ager's case and determine whether he violated probation by missing a scheduled ...

In a letter postmarked the same day the Vermont Supreme Court made its ruling exonerating jailed homeschool mom Karen Maple of truancy and educational neglect, SRS (Social Rehabilitative Services)notified Ms. Maple demanding she pay 'them' child support for the amount of time they had her son in custody!!! Not only did the state 'take' her son away illegally into their custody but they have had no idea where this child is or has been for the last six months. Still they want Karen to pay them child support even though they have never had physical custody of her son. SRS ...
