In the post election analysis the usual blame game is sure to ensue on with different factions of the party casting blame on eachother. Moderate Republicans blaming the Teap Party. Yesterday I walked 2.2 miles around the Silver Lake Reservoir in Los Angeles. A nice walk in a pleasant upscale L.A. neighborhood with many fine and interesting homes. If we are to believe the main stream media, the election is over, the swing states have spoken, the debates will have no impact. Prepare for four more years. They cite the polls and for further proof, their election maps showing Obama within reach of 271 electoral votes. Last Friday I went into Barnes & Noble bookstore in Glendale, CA. Displayed prominently in the front of the bookstore in both the new arrivals shelf and the best selling shelves were a number of anti-Obama books including most notably The Amateur. There were no pro-Obama books prominently displayed in the front part of the store. What a marked contrast from 2008! Back in the day the Glendale-Pasadena area was rock ribbed Goldwater-Reagan Country. Now days the area is just about as liberal as Santa Monica or Beverly Hills.
